For sale is my VW Golf R 3 door DSG in Lapiz Blue. 11830 miles I have owned for 3 years with 1 previous owner. Full service history. First at Lookers VW Sunderland, next 3 done at Autohaus VW Specialists Edinburgh. Haldex serviced also. Serviced last in July along with MOT. Discovery Nav Pro 2 Virtual cockpit DCC dynamic chassis 19" Spielberg alloys Black vienna leather heated seats Front & rear parking sensors Golf is in excellent condition with less than 12000 miles on the clock. During my ownership never driven in the winter and hardly even in the rain. Always garaged. Only blemishes are light inevitable stonechipping to bonnet & bumper, very light scratches on rear bumper( will machine polish out) and one very small nick on front driver's alloy. Arguably in the best colour in 3 door guise with the vital DCC pack and 19"alloys this car will be a desirable spec for many. My Golf also comes with an APR Stage 1 safe low torque engine remap. Done at Autohaus VW Specialists in Edinburgh. Location; Central Scotland Any questions please message me and I will be happy to answer them.

  2. If the paint is original and there are no body modifications in that area you should have a claim. However I stand corrected on this next point but paintwork warranty is 3 years and corrosion warranty is 7 years. I am talking from previous experience with Audi regarding Audi RS4 I owned. My RS4 was 5 years old when I bought it and it had several spots of bubbling rust on rear arches/quarter and bottom of rear door. I went to local Audi dealer who confirmed it was original paint and had no body modifications. Claim sent to Audi UK who rejected claim as it was 5 years old it was out of the paintwork warranty. They said it is not covered under corrosion warranty as believe it or not the rust protection is "painted on so only covered under paintwork warranty". This is a total kop out as the body is dipped in rust protection and not painted on. The moral of this is they will find a way to reject a claim whether it is justified or not and expect some b******t reason for rejecting it.
  3. I have had Pirelli P Zero's on two of my previous cars including RS4 and M5. I replaced them on both cars with loads of tread left on them as I personally found them very hard and not much feel to them. Changed to Michelin Pilot Sports and transformed handling and feel on both cars. I currently have Pirelli P Zero's on my Golf R as they are the tyres fitted from new and I still don't like the feedback trough them. I have persisted with them but will be fitting Michelins in summer when I refurb wheels. I think you will find a noticeable difference with Michelin PS4's.
  4. Liverpool fan since the days of Dalglish!! My idol as a boy👌
  5. Bilt hamber always end up going back to it after trying many others
  6. It does look like bird crap which has burned through clear coat. Dealer will look at it and check paint thickness to confirm if original paint or not. If not they will not even consider progressing claim. If original paint they may put a claim forward and find another reason for not repairing it!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I have Stage 1 engine remap from APR which has made a nice difference. There is now DSG remap available from APR for the MK7.5 as well I believe. Think you are talking around £1500 for both remaps from APR.
  8. Not worried about, just didn't think there had been that many issues with them.
  9. Just curious how many people have had any expensive DSG repairs. I was speaking to a gearbox specialist the other day who was having a look at gearbox/clutch issue on my old A4 runabout and he was telling me he has at least one DSG/S tronic gearbox replacement a month. Obviously this type of gearbox has been around for many years now so there will tend to be some failures. Also price for replacement is frightening even though he can do them for half the price main dealer will charge. Has anyone had any major issues with their DSG box?
  10. 3 door MK7.5 R's are out there. Mine is a 3 door Lapiz Blue. There does seem to be more 5 door ones on the market though. I do suggest you go for the MK7.5 not that the MK7 is a bad car by any means just feel it has a little edge over the MK7. Good luck on your search👍
  11. I had Stage 1 remap from APR done on my MK7.5 R and no problems with it. Noticeable difference. To be honest I don't know if there will much noticeable difference between maps from reputable companies or not. Maybe others will have experience with them; always had APR remaps done to my cars.
  12. I am not slating all main dealers as I have had great experience with BMW dealers but every Audi dealer I have experience with are like you say they are your best friend when parting with cash to buy their cars and then treat you like a mug thereafter. Even their warranty claims they will squirm out of and make up some spectacular excuses. My 5 year old Audi RS4 got rejected for a corrosion claim by Audi UK. I had a couple of corrosion spots appearing on rear quarter. Paintwork was original as confirmed by Audi Stirling. Paintwork warranty was 3 years and corrosion warranty was 7 years. Audi refused claim as according to them the corrosion protection is " painted on" so it would only only be covered under paintwork warranty. Absolute crooks!!!!
  13. It's a personal thing but I always take it to a recommended specialist. Most of these boys have worked at main dealerships in their time and know how corrupt main dealers can be when it comes to costs for a basic service. Granted I have never used VW main dealers but from my experience with Audi dealers I would stay well clear of them. Audi dealer wanted £430 for an oil service on my wife's Audi A1 1.5. Done at specialist using exact same materials and warranty approved for £125. Boys I use both are RS Specialists who previously worked for Audi and left due to frustration about how corrupt Audi dealers where. An example he gave was he was told to charge a customer for fitting a cable tie which was £1.50 for materials and 1 hours labour at £80!!!!!!!!!!! plus vat!!!!!!!!!
  14. What I like about them is the painted black centres, no rusty hubs. I know not as important as how they stop but look the part!!!
  15. How are these discs and pads for noise? No squeal when cold?
  16. Working 7th Xmas Day in a row😭
  17. Has anyone ever been successful claiming from VW for this issue or do you get the predictable response that it is normal and they are meant to do that🤔
  18. Auto headlights and daytime lights on my car so lights of some sort on all the time. Remember not much heat from Led's compared to xenons so will have little effect. Seems that cold and wet weather this will happen exactly the time you want good headlights!!!!! It is the only car I have owned with the problem as bad as this. Previous Audi's and BMW's never had anything as bad.
  19. Not every xenon or led headlight steams up. My wife has Audi A1 with led headlights and no steaming up. All my previous cars for last ten years have been full led headlights or xenon and the Golf has had the worst steaming up. I can accept a little spot happening now and again but this time both headlights steamed up halfway up the lenses. I don't take car to jet wash, wash by hand and very rarely goes out in the wet never mind cold weather. It seems to me a poor design if other cars don't have the problem which they clearly dont.
  20. No it doesn't clear at all. I don't drive car much in poor weather but got the odd bit of steaming up. Went out today headlights clear, came back after hour or so and steamed up badly. Still not cleared yet after 3 or so hours.
  21. Noticed both my headlights on my Mk 7.5R are steaming up badly, almost half way up both lenses. Car is only 2 1/2 years old covered only 7500 miles. Has anyone been successful with VW warranty claim for steamed up headlights? Don't fancy forking out for new set!!!!
  22. Got APR remap done at Autohaus in Loanhead Edinburgh. Been going there for years and would highly recommend Davie & Stevie. Very knowledgeable guys.
  23. Had a MKIV R32 in Deep Blue Pearl few years ago now. Really liked the car; fitted Milltek exhaust and remapped to remove flat spot. Sounded great but wasn't that fast in comparison to other cars then with turbo diesels passing you. Some issues with them to be aware of; some of them common to all Golfs and some specific to the R32 such as timing chain issues. MKIV cheaper road tax wise in comparison to MKV unless you get early one. Saying that drove a supercharged R32 and that was a different beast!!
