  1. The last paragraph above is interesting
  2. Not in Northern Ireland. Look up the legislation in the road traffic NI order. This is a grey area. But having a car with a sports cat and res delete that has just recently passed in a government run MOT centre. The failure is the emissions not the make up of the exhaust. It does need a cat of some sort , or appear to have one 🤥
  3. It just has to pass emissions. If it does no issues. The minimum in terms of law is that exhaust gasses have to pass through a silencer.
  4. Where did you get the wind deflector set from. Would you recommend or have you had any issues.
  5. Hi can you send me a link to what you’ve read and the tuners you spoke too before I make a decision or not about the Revo route.

    Fuel

97 Ron good enough. I’m in the north coast. Only option I have is Sainsbury’s super unleaded or GO. Use the Go with stage 1 Revo and Racingline hardware.
  7. Not much advice coming about this exhaust so far 😂
  8. Yea talk to Paul at dubtech in Ballymoney. Just had my estate in with him after Covid lockdown. Full Revo stage 1 with DSG tune. Major service and DSG service and other bits and pieces fitted. Very reasonably priced and easy to work with. I won’t let anyone else near the car. He also updates the VW data base and is warranty friendly. PS. The Revo was on offer at the time.
  9. Hi people. Will be going stage 1 Revo shortly. What’s the thoughts Von the TCU 1 remap for the DSG. Is it really really needed , or just a nicer all round package. Any advice welcome. Cheers
  10. Would highly recommend you find a good independent vw specialist. They can be trusted and will have a far better knowledge of the car. VAT registered and qualified means it won’t affect the warranty on the vehicle either.
  11. So out of interest. How many people on here waiting until they where the legal age before they started driving. Let’s start a list. Age and first car driven. ill start. 10 years old , MK2 escort RS2000 custom.
  12. Yea have already made a complaint to the insurance company. Hopefully they’ll withhold funds until this is sorted. See what way this progresses in the next couple of days. Looking at trade insurance states that the person is covered for use in relation to the trade. As they can’t justify the 48 miles as part of the trade/repair could result in whoever was driving it was doing so without insurance but one step at a time.
  13. Just had that front radar thing on the lower grill replaced. Was wonder does anyone know how VW re calibrate it for the distance and speed etc. Hit a fox on the way home one evening. Needed it replaced from that. After the work was done car came back with 48 miles on it and the engine mode on race. The repair company is trying to blame VW
  14. If it doesn’t work get back to me. I have another one somewhere just can’t find it at the min
  15. Report it for information only. He has committed an offence by failing to remain and report an RTC. Doesn’t matter if there’s damage or not. Report it to keep yourself right. The bare minimum by law is that both drivers must exchange details as in name , address and reg details of the car. Again. Just keep yourself right
  16. Welcome. Look forward to the photos. You’ll enjoy. 👍
  17. I had the same thing with an 04 Passat. It’s the clear coat as part of the original paint process. I made my worse with a pressure washer which I suspect vw will use as getting they’re way out of it.
  18. Have used Sainsbury’s super since I got the car 4K miles ago. Always used it on the Cupra R 225 BAM engine as well. No issues with either. Never looked at fuel for power but for smoothness. Have never had any issues previously or currently. Think people get very caught up on the marketing side of things that have been carried out in a lab. Just like MPG figures that get quoted by manufacturers. I remember looking into vpower and vpower nitro a number of years in England. Decided against it once I was in New Zealand and seen the same vpower and nitro but both products where either 92 or 95 Ron. Knew then it was a marketing gimmick which they get away with as long as the can get the results in a lab
  19. I’m running mK7 . No issues at all to be honest. Sounds pretty normal under light acceleration, until u put the foot down. I’m running an estate so my exhausts aren’t valved and have to do most of the control through light or heavy right foot. Mrs drives it most days as well with the baby in the back and he just sleeps so no issues there. Done 150 mile round trip yesterday with my grandmother and great aunt and they made no comment at all. Just said the seats where great. So overall 4 month old baby to 80 years plus have no issues , not sure many can review it like that to be honest.
