Stage1 is a total no-brainer. It's £500 and it transforms the car. I'm only thinking about Stage2 now because the power is addictive and a 400bhp 4WD Estate is my dream car. I was considering buying an S4 Avant or even an older RS4 but.... I think those would just get silly money over time, whereas I could put £5-6k into my Golf and have a very quick and practical car that won't break the bank to run. -

Manage to go out yesterday for a proper drive. BIG smiles all-round. The boost that comes on around 3000rpm is incredible. The engine just pulls so hard now. Totally transformed the cars power delivery. I think I'm gonna have to do some proper Stage2 upgrades now to extract the full potential. I think I'll be taking a trip up to Stockport before too long and asking Rick to sprinkle some more magic on this car 🤣 -

Got my medium 95 tune sent back... Downloaded into the device from the PC. Plugged into the car, initially had some problems with the touch screen but the unit has a calibration option in the menus. Once it was calibrated I could select the newly uploaded map. Turn the ignition on, and remapping begins. About 25 minutes later and the map is complete..... So I don't know what sort of power the medium tune puts out but the additional torque and top end is very noticeable. Pulling in first gear is pretty savage and onto 2nd and 3rd it keeps pulling and has a pronounced surge of power towards the top end. I'm gonna keep the 95 map on it for a few weeks whilst I flush the system with some nicer fuel, and then I'll stick the super map on it and see what that is like. So far very quick and easy mod. -
Very interested in this for bikes also. Looks like it's doable and not horrifically expensive. Might have to reach out to them and see if they'll come to London or if I can drive over there.

Rick got back to me within a few hours so.... I'm on my way. Plugged the device in... stock settings were pulled. I was in and out the house in under 3 minutes probably. Files sent over to Rick. I'm going to pay for both a 95 and 98ron remap because I've been to pokey little petrol stations where they either don't have 98ron or it's only available when the shop is open and you're stuck with the 95ron automated system or some other shite. If I keep the unit in the glovebox I should be able to just switch it back to the 95 map and carry on. -

For some reason I can't update my post but i've found the answer... The credits allow you to pay for apps to auto-code various things for you rather than long coding everything for you. Ok so question is, what version do you recommend I pick up? I work in IT so I'm assuming changing config is not going to be difficult for me. Should I just get the standard version?

Looking to buy one of these.... The device is like £40, but what is this ODB Pro/Starter pack differences? Next generation device PRO version 200 credits

Alright my Unicorn device arrived today.... It's a Powergate3+ which after some googling is a remote tuning system which allows tuners to encrypt their remaps from a master box and send them to clients remap boxes. Now just waiting for the car to come back home so I can start the process. And one thing to note... I didn't get a software download link or instructions in the package. Maybe one for @Rick@UnicornMotorDev and his staff to think about, a simple printed page which download link + instructions would really help us out It did come with a business card with an e-mail address so I'm going to e-mail them now -

I ordered the Unicorn self tune last week.... So will also update on how I get on. Only problem is wife just brimmed the tank with 95ron...... So I might need to do a lap around the m25 before I can get some super unleaded in it. -
So here is my 66 Plate late model 7.0 R Wagon in Black. I've just purchased it from the leasing company..... and now that it's officially mine I'm planning a bunch of mods. I've read lots of great threads here so nothing I'm doing is all that original. 1. Unicorn Stage1 Map - Ordered 2. Set of 18" lightweight rims. Currently shopping around for something nice as I need some new rubber soon anyway. 3. Resonator delete with anti-drone. 4. KW V3 Coilovers 5. Bigger brake kit 6. Eventually look at more power with a Stage 2. On the exterior I'm still unsure. Black is not the greatest colour for an R and the only thing I can think off is to delete all the silver bits and black it out even further. Maybe some LED light upgrades and some tints. Roof Box Wagon Aesthetic 😆 Drove from London to Åre - 3400 mile round trip with some proper grippy cold weather Winter tyres. Fair bit of ice build up..... Wasn't even the coldest seen. Try -21c cold start in the morning, the car started up like every other time. Instantly and without problem. Does anyone else just randomly take photos of their cars in nice locations ? I wonder what my neighbours think when they see me snow foaming my car every other week on the street 🤣 Wish I had a drive way but maybe another time!

Mine look horrendous. Might need to get some of this hammerite stuff.

That's a great spec list, and love the colour.

Great build thread. Loved the boot full of hardcore.... I've had to do the same a few times with the R Wagon. Some good ideas here for my upcoming upgrades

Great car feller. I've got a Estate in Black, I was leasing it but have decided to purchase it off the leasing company because I love it so much. Have been looking around for some good build threads and this is great. Ticks a lot of boxes. Wife does a lot of driving in the car so I'm not sure how low I'll be able to take it, she already thinks the stock suspension is sometimes uncomfortable on these horrible London roads. I need to do some research on some coil-overs that can potentially give a plush but still relatively sporty drive. I don't have DCC suspension unfortunately.

Sounds great.... Gonna get one ordered. The misses currently does 35 miles each day in the car.... And I only drive it on the weekend. Hoping she doesn't kill me.
