Hey Folks 😎 Looking to potentially go stage 1 but not looking to change any parts e.g (induction kit or coils etc) I'm currently thinking to go with R-tech performance & also have the ECU & TCU done, R-tech seem very reasonable in terms of price & very knowledgeable in the field. Most other remap companies seem to want to change parts & are nearly double the price Has anyone on here had a stage 1 remap done from R-tech & if so how do you find it? Do you have a GPF Golf R or non GPF? I'm not so interested in chasing bhp figures but more interested in how the ECU & TCU behave in terms of reliability when mapped? is the map progressive/linear, I would like to at least see minimum 355 bhp to at least 380 max if possible if chasing figures are a thing 😁 I won't be bothering with a stage 2 in the future so only looking for a very reliable stage 1 map. Ps: I don't want to travel to far, as I'll be going/coming from the greater London area. My choices are: 1 R-tech 2 Phantom Tuning 3 MRC (costly) 4 Mountune (very expensive) 5 Unicorn (to far to travel) but will think about it. 6 Vudu (to far to travel) Or can anyone recommend a strong, trustworthily company that they can 100% vouch for. Hi guys, me again lol. I wonder if you get one of these SA tuning or Mountune flashing devices to get stage one on my mk 7.5 Will the dealer know that I tuned it even tho I returned it to stock flash? I heard that it leaves markers and stuff do warranty is a gone no matter if you returned it to stock.

Hello all, I am stage 1 ECU/TCU tuned with R-Tech and the gearbox is acting a little strange when I hit the loud pedal. Sometimes when I boot it in 1st, it climbs through the rev range and wants to hesitate when changing into second gear and holds back for a split second, then changes gear and off it goes through the rev range like nothings wrong. Its also done this a couple of times going from 2nd to 3rd. This is usually done in Race mode and gearbox in S. Both manual and auto mode. Any one come across this type of thing before? Also when plodding around car parks or town, when i'm at around 2-10mph it likes to increase up on the revs all on its own when coasting. Only very marginal but it likes to 'hang on' (best way to describe it). Quite a difficult one to explain, but if you've encountered the same thing, you'll know exactly what im on about. Introduction Good Evening Fellow R owners. I have just created an account after trawling through these forums for a few weeks. I have read through plenty of users posts and I'm amazed by what different people have managed to do to their cars! I'm looking for some guidance as to what modifications to do to my R. I will hopefully become a regular member of the forum 👌 Modifying my R I have a 2014 Manual MK7R and I'm looking into modifications but can't decide on what to go with. I have had my car since Sep 17 and haven't made any modifications to it yet. I would like my car to be faster throughout the rev range, to be more visually aggressive/appealing and to be louder whilst maintaining half decent MPG (for the power of the R). Stage 1/2 - APR or REVO? After reading user posts I'm edging towards APR. My previous car was mapped by REVO but I've heard better things about APR. Is there any pertinent information I should know before deciding this? -Stage 1 or 2? Ideally I would like to go to Stage 1 first and then potentially upgrade to Stage 2. With REVO you can just pay the difference between stages, is this the case with APR? Hardware Upgrades -Although they aren't required, is it recommended to upgrade any components for Stage 1? (IE a clutch uograde for manual transmission) -Short Clutch Stop? Are they worth it? Which would you buy? -Short shifter? Are they worth it? Which would you buy? -Uprated clutch? Is this recommended for even Stage 1? If so, which would you buy? -New intercooler? Which to buy? -New air intake system? Which to buy? Making my car louder -Would a res delete and turbo muffler delete be enough or do I need to either get a downpipe or whole new exhaust system? Are there any recommendations of which of these to get and where from? Visual Appearance -I'm going to get my rear windows 95% or 100% tinted. Could anybody recommend a shade to use or where to get these done? -Is there any modification I could make which would greatly enhance my car visually? Im considering Brembo drilled brake discs and red callipers. THANK YOU for taking the time to read my post! I apologise for how long it is. I would greatly appreciate any advice given. Main questions: - where does the 10 hp power increase comes from? Bigger turbo , other hardware changes or they just fiddled with the ECU software? - the DSG 7 speed transmission is the same they employed in the RS3? - is tuning potential changed in any way or stage1, 2 and so on will make no virtual difference between prefacelift and postfacelift?

Hi guys, I am fairly new here and also new on owning a VW MK7R and it is the best decision I have ever made in my life. LOL Excuse me but I am actually looking for advices to go to stage 1 tuning, looking into putting more punch to my already awesome vehicle. Any advices on what to do first or what to put in? Thanks

Probably asked a million times already but I am going to get a stage 1 remap done but can't decide on revo or apr!! Anyone help tip my opinion to one side??
