NazSultan
Finance docs posted today. Should get them Monday . Now all I need is a car!Did your finance docs have the dealer contribution deposit next to the actual deposit? I've seen pics of people's paperwork and the actual deposit is more than what was agreed but the dealer contribution makes up the difference. The reason I'm asking is I went to sign the docs today but it didn't have the dealer contribution part next to the deposit so I wasn't happy signing it. My salesman wasn't in so he'd arranged his colleague to see me today but even he advised to leave it as it's wrong. Edit: Sorry just realised you're receiving yours on Monday. I thought you'd posted them back today. Can anyone else shed any light on this please?
Gwalker2272
The deposit amount on the paperwork was more than my quote but the amount I was told to put on the cheque was correct. This was in the email from Freedom

This was in the email from Freedom This is the thing. I haven't had anything to say they will pay me x amount so I'd at least like something in writing stating that before signing the docs. Maybe I should've just signed it today but didn't want to risk anything. I reckon my sales guy will come back to me on Monday stating that it's correct and they will pay me the difference, so I should've just signed it today I suppose lol but I'd still prefer something in writing to cover myself just in case. VW7R
Pain in the proverbial changing cars. The buyer of my BMW cannot get to me until Friday and I can't have 2 cars parked on my street as they would both need Resident's Permits. Then there is the Insurance issue as I can't have 2 cars on my insurance. Perhaps VW can give me one weeks free insurance cover whilst I swap over. Then I have to arrange the detailing and getting the Keypad Immobiliser fitted. Then arrange Gap Insurance, Wheel Insurance, buy a Service pack. Aaargh! Aaargh! 7 day insurance from VW will aid your transition. I had to use that because my R arrived a couple of days before my existing lease was collected. However, when I had insurance through Hastings Direct and swapped cars, they provided cover for both cars over a 7 day 'grace' period. prune
Hi all, long term lurker (ever since I ordered the R!) but thought I'd post now with my updates. Ordered mine through Lingscars (great communication, would recommend) on 10th November, was told I was BW9 and received my 5a text a few days ago (Tues 3rd March). The suppling dealer is Cheltenham Volkswagen. They believe they'll receive the car in approx. 3 weeks! Lingscars suggest I get the car delivered to me but it sounds like I'll be waiting much longer based on a few of your comments. Lingscars mentioned that I might not be able to collect the car myself as cars are sent to 'prep' centres and not the dealer - anybody had experience of this? I can't bloody wait! I'm with LV and I'll speak to them on Monday plus also will speak to my dealership to see if this can be done. The Resident's Parking is a total PITA. My car is being delivered to Cheltenham VW next week and I've arranged to collect with no problem. They only need a day to prep the car and can also arrange for a Saturday collection. The fleet sales people don't work on Saturday, Donna is your best bet as a contact there.

VW free insurance, visitors permits, GAP insirance with ALA couldn't be easier and they price match any cover out there. 10% discount on web price if you phone them. Don't stress. NazSultan
Guys what do you think? Was I silly not to just sign the docs as it seems that's the way it is with everyone's or did I do the right thing by waiting until I can speak to my sales guy and he can confirm re the dealer deposit contribution? I think you were right, Naz. Never sign a legal doc if you are not happy with it. It does sound like the dealer will be paying the difference between your initial rental and the number on the doc but better be certain first. I agree you can't take risks with legal documents. Just don't want to delay anything further but car isn't even here yet so shouldn't make a difference. Saw my reg plate on the document which was good to see getting close now! Snooky
