Finally to be a Golf R owner!!

Hi all, thought I'd say hi. I've finally found a lapiz blue 4 door golf r dsg. It's got standard equipment but even that's good spec imo. I'm super excited and have wanted one since first time I saw one.

I've sold my current car which is a Audi A4 3.0tdi which was capable but quite boring to drive, this replaced a vw Scirocco 2.0tsi which was brilliant and loved every minute driving it! I'm hoping the R gives me as much excitement!! The change to the a4 was made due to starting a family, but after 9 months of ownership I knew I needed to change it, I think the golf R will give me the practicality that is also needed.

Will take 7-10 days before the car is ready, so it's going to feel like a long wait! Will put some pics once I've got the car and had a chance to detail it!

Hi shak....

awesome news...

3weeks into My Golf R and well happy...

Missed out on 8 DSG R'S1f622.png second hand they're gone before you know it.

Look forward to your pics..

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I've had exactly the same issue, missed out on 4 this weekend alone! I found a midnight blue one at a dealer and quicky put down a deposit over the phone to only find out when I got there last night to view it that they had double sold it!! I was gutted to say the least.. But they sourced me another in my preferred colour with lower mileage, hopefully it will be a smooth transaction from now on. 🤞

That's a great outcome from a horrible situation you should never of been thrust into.. dealer comes good in the end..that makes a change.

Enjoy the R Shak. . Like myself finally!

I went to a local dealer who I didn't gel with at all on first conversation. Looked at mk7 R lapis blue manual cloth which wasn't any of our preferred options.

Mentioned we wanted red with DSG 5 door and sunroof and he said your joking! No I says! We have a new one that spec in the compound he says, but its under negotiation!

Well bring it out and I'll buy it so off he goes to get it and here I am.

Zero wait and 3k off driving a mk7.5 R..

Over the moon

Welcome aboard, glad things worked out for you in the end. I can pretty much guarantee that your R will not be a boring drive - for one thing you'll know you've got front wheels! (the last A4 diesels I drove I could feel nothing going on up front at all). Enjoy!

My car arrived at the dealer today for me to test drive... All I can say is wow!! Plenty of grunt and handles very well...I felt so connected to the car! The dealer is sorting out a few jobs including 2 wheel refurbs which were slightly marked. Should get it Thursday! Can't wait
