harryhackenbacker
Just noticed this morning that I have the spoiler problem as well on both sides of the vehicle it is coming loose.... I was going to wait with the other stuff but won't want to run the risk of loosing bits of the car, so I called up this morning and it is booked into Tuesday for some warranty repairs; 1. Passenger side black spoiler extension coming loose 2. Driver side black spoiler extension coming loose 3. Passenger side door/window rattling with loose parts in door 4. Sound actor distorting/too loud We'll see how that goes.... I like that they open at 7:30.... DJ it would be Interesting to know any facts of factory updates/fixes /notes on the actuator thing
JonnyG
DJ it would be Interesting to know any facts of factory updates/fixes /notes on the actuator thing I think our own quattrogmbh has given some info on this : From another thread : I suspect you're going to be out of luck with making it louder. The adaptation will almost certainly be at the default of 100%.There will be more insulation around the sound actuator which is VW's post BW14 response to unfavourable chassis borne vibrations exacerbated by the structural sound module. viewtopic.php?f=39&t=5877&p=165791#p165791
Trickz
the only real issue I've had is today when I went to fit my private plate, the standard number plate screws must of been to long when they fitted the plates as there is metal right behind the bumper,so I'm left with two oversized holes, drilled new holes to find an even shallower holes(metal work very close behind bumper) lol think I will stick it on before my car looks like a culinder. dinz14
I've only got one problem so far. My mirrors don't always fold in when I want them to, it's as if they're stuck or something? It only happens at the start of a journey. I have to twist the 'knob' around to all the different positions before the mirrors decide to work. Anyone else have problems folding them in using the knob?
mickR
I had similar folding mirror problems on my MK6 Golf, not on MK7 so far(fingers crossed).
dinz14
I had similar folding mirror problems on my MK6 Golf, not on MK7 so far(fingers crossed). I'm hoping it doesn't bug me too much as I can't be arsed dealing with the stealers over such a minor problem. I'm sure it'll sort itself out. What was done to fix the problem on your previous car? mickR
Didn't bother wasting my time at dealers, just lived with it as it didn't happen that often.
quattrogmbh
Tell them to use their diagnostics...... Guided fault finding...chassis borne sound module.....output tests Fairly easy one for a master tech to locate. There's even only one test ☺
quattrogmbh
BTW 3m vhb tape on the spoiler is 10x better than the original foam tape Shouldn't be down to the owner, but a quick fix that will last.
quattrogmbh
I tried something similar to no more nails... It made a right mess ☺. As for the loaner, chat to the sales manager and express your dissatisfaction that you are having to return with a defective vehicle so soon into the ownership experience. Doohie
Had recently suffered from a slight slipping clutch at 75 mph in 6th gear. Were seated with 5 people in the car..now 2500 miles. will follow up Update Tested yesterday the car and he did it again. remarkable.. was only evident when the oil temperature was 80/90 degrees at 56mp/h around 2200 rpm.. go deeper into the throttle the refs varies about 500 rpm, once the oil above 100 degrees the clutch no longer slips. Update II Today, the car goes in to the dealer for a diagnosis/repair Of course, as always, if you end up going to the garage ... the clutch are no longer slips Wonder how this story will turn out. chrisB
900 miles in and a dull rattle has developed somwhere from the nearside rear, hoping it gets much worse as it's not the sort of thing a dealer would find as it is (but enough to drive me nuts). It could be a long 23 months if this is the way things are with the build..
chrisB
Located the cause of the very annoying rattle. Took the usual steps of dropping the seats, adjusting the hatch bump stops etc. Was about to give up when I tried hitting the exhaust tailpipes in an upward direction (heal of the hand) and bingo - annoying rattle from the exhaust centre box . Sat inside the car with my glamorous assistant hitting one of the many tailpipes exactly replicated the rattle. Not booked it in yet but at least I can tell them exactly where to look instead of them randomly pulling the interior apart.
Doohie
Had recently suffered from a slight slipping clutch at 75 mph in 6th gear. Update III To have been received after a first time, the car is back at the dealership The first time they have deaerated the hydraulic system that operates the clutch.. they have the car tested on some sprints in 3rd and 4th gear and encountered nothing..thought this was over...until I drove at home by 75 mph/3000 rpm the cluth just did the same as before. I have filmed in the case the cluth is not doing it again but luckily it did happen again during the test drive. Meanwhile, they have taken the gearbox out and the entire cluth will be renewed. One problem..the pieces are not in stock..
