What I love about the R is that it’s such an easy everyday drive, but if you want a bit of oomph it’s also more than capable. 👍🏻 My other half drove it this morning and she’s already worried that people are looking at it… It’s bright and sunny in Bristol this morning though and the colour is something to behold! I had the Goodyears come on the mk8 and they were ok, but performance dropped off quite quickly and they were not on a par with Conti 7s that replaced them, or the PS4S I ran on my mk7. I don’t see the point in spending all that money on a car only to run it on substandard tyres that do not get the best from the car. It felt a huge change replacing the Bridgestones with Conti 7s. No point on driving crap tyres. It's a real shame we can't opt for a decent tyre from the factory. But sure thing that I'll be doing the same, I think seeing I clock little mileage a year (maybe 4k on this car) I might as well drive it on a decent tyres 👍🏼 Good to hear the change is worth it. mahalo Posted March 2, 2025 Report Share Posted March 2, 2025 The Hankooks are much better than the Bridgestones in terms of ride quality and comfort. The Bridgestones do give what I think is an unacceptably hard ride for UK roads. They are also very hard wearing so tend to last a long time which means you have to suffer them longer.
