  1. happened to me last week ..... again cracked plastic housing rather than the cable. Tried the hand through the liner way, other than skinning my knuckles no joy. resorted to my local vw specialist, who managed it ..... apparently just enough room to get a spanner on the locking plate and slowly remove ...... took over an hour to undo both bolts. he said make sure you tape up the edge of the bonnet to protect the paint He said they are getting at least one a month .... clearly a bad design with the two part cable and poxy plastic box to house it in.

    Parking

The parking charge is just that a charge to allow you to park , supply /demand/overheads and profit set the cost of parking . It's not a tax on the disabled it's the cost of providing a service. Why should you get a mobility allowance or reduced railcard cost irrespective of your assets.

    Parking

can you explain Why rather than pay they park outside the car park adding 300m+ to the distance to walk A vast majority of our visitors have no choice but to drive they have to pay what is a small charge , there is a discounted season ticket available to 65+ and all blue badge holders ...... should that be free as well

    Parking

At work we have designated disabled bays in the pay and display car park, despite signs indicating parking charges apply to the bays at least twice a day I get Q " Do blue badge holders have to pay ? " A" Yes, we don't discriminate everyone pays the same " Some pay , others mutter and drive off , presumably to park on double yellows outside. Why is there an assumption that they shouldn't have to pay
  5. Why is there a fixation with police and parking You have to apply some common sense .... taking a statement may not be a violent incident, but parking "legally" and walking for a few minutes to take the statement , means that when the violent job comes in you don't waste time getting back to it.
  6. "Obstruction" on the path to nowhere , as evidenced by the Q of push chairs and people waiting to pass between the front of the car and the end the path by the sign.
  7. LOS and REM markers are just for police use and cancel each other, in these circs there would be no residual markers that would show up on an HPI check
  8. Not sure it's the inner city areas that they are being stolen from , the R ended up in Bradford but more likely to have been stolen from an area outside. In my part of the world we are currently having a spate of ATM burglaries which appear to be following the same pattern , small town or village close to the motorway network , early hours of the morning when due to cuts/ rationalisation of policing numbers everyone is miles away tied up with dealing with some scote who can't manage their own life. Very little chance of being caught ....... very similar to the normal car key break MO. When caught they need to serve time , in ch5 other program, toughest US jails , now thats hard time with the right regime. There is absolutely no fear of prison, if they ever actually get sent down it gives them some order to life, free food and lodgings and no matter how bad their behavior they will be out on licence after 1/2 their sentence.
  9. Its the criminal justice system's bias towards suspects that's the problem, Would you believe that the likely sentence is not a reason in itself to withhold bail (R (Thompson) v Central Criminal Court[2006] A.C. 9) Given the seriousness of the offences I am almost certain the police will have initially sought a remand in custody, however depending on his previous offending history again it's almost certain that at some point he would have been granted bail. Don't forget that as prisoners only generally serve half their sentence before being released, any time on remand is deducted from the remaining half in full effectively making time on remand worth double ........ don't you love it

  11. GMP's RTC policy - section 27 onwards - they will do bugger all , minor personal injury rtc initially non attendant reported subsequently 24hrs +. May not be morally right but they appear to have stuck to their own policy https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/280806/response/693107/attach/4/FOI road traffic collision reporting guide 2012.pdf
  12. Tetra/Airwaves ..... contract ends before 2020, and due to be replaced with 4G
  13. do you know me ? , for that kind of return I was paying 12.5% then 14%
  14. Help to buy ISA gives a reasonable return if you can put aside £200 a month and meet the criteria and intend to buy your first property- My daughter is looking long term 3 years plus to max the 25% extra on the 10k limit. As for pensions .... my final salary fairy arrives every month - having managed to avoid 2 changes in the scheme , wife on the other hand is taking early retirement as her NHS pension tapered protection runs out this November. Moral of the story , what you join , the % you pay and time you need to work will change for the worse over time.
  15. of course , once you hit the straight you would pull away , the figures wouldn't change - you would be roughly 12m ahead after 4 seconds. BUT you are behind the GTD so have to overtake it , that is the problem - you need space and time to do it. it's not Mrs Miggins in her Fiesta doing 30 mph who remains at that speed , It's Ralph the rep thrashing the arse off his GTD , keeping it in it's power band and driving it hard.
