I think the r should be north of 400 too, like been said before for a flagship model its left way behind in the hp stakes at the moment. Yes the r sells plenty units at the moment. But I'm sure the people out there would buy more if the power was a good bit more. Look at the rs3 rs, m sport models. They all sell loads and even the French and the likes. All the new hot hatch race has come back with a bang and the golf is lacking behind in power. Vw need to up there game to match or better still make the r. The model to beat. 👍

About time the r got a power rise. It seems to always be behind ford etc. We see a lot of tuned golfs out there. The engine can take more power so come on vw. Give the r what it needs and make it more special , can't really remember but did I read somewhere Honda were thinking of 4wd Civic type r. That would be a weapon. But pig ugly though

It's. A metallic colour. A touch up will always look different. All depends on how fussy you are. It's on plastic so won't rust. Just build it up and use lacquer on last coats. To seal the paint. Once you don't really see it. In time you will forget it's there. And your eye won't automatically go straight to the point 👍

Yup have to agree. A 3 door car will always look better. Not everyone wants a sports car?? What is a sports car. ????? A golf is a hot hatch. A sports car has many meanings. Not everyone wants a porker etc. But I have had a few old m cars and have to say the m4/2 do look rather nice. And tail happy fun too, If I change mine next year I'll go back to m cars. If golf only 5 door. Lol. Let the fun begin lol

Lol and so it begins. I knew someone would make a big deal about it. It was just banter. It was my opinion not everyone thinks the same. It's a case of. If you want a 3 door buy one. If you want a 5 door buy one. Personal taste. If they stop the 3 dr golf r. I personally will move to another brand to get a 3 door hot hatch And I don't mind wind up windows. Makes car lighter. If you put most hot hatches together. In 3 door and 5 door ( where applicable ). Tell me the 3 door doesn't look better 😱 and come on the real reason 5 door is taking off is because let's face it. We getting too lazy to slide a seat forward and sit in the back. I did it for many years with my father. And I have two kids. And I have a 3 door they can climb in the back as I did. Got these. STUTGART st-9. For my mk7. But by time they come I had sold the car same day for a 7.5. And it's got silver prets. So stuck these up for sale or swap for tuning stuff lol. ( free plug lol). 👌👌👌👌😬😬😬😬😱😱😱😱👍

This was the main reason I come back to the vw range. After having a mk2 focus rs. I wanted the mk3. But only available in 5 door. I personally think a hot hatch should be 3 door only ( let the arguments begin lol ) 😱 so after reading no more 3 door r. Well only really leaves the m cars left m4/2 I love the rwd but also love the 4wd. Limited choice now. Most car makers are going 5 door only. Sad times ahead me thinks. 🤷‍♂️😂😂😂😂😂😂

I knew a few divers that worked on the forth bridge job in fife, money was good but the guys always said it's hard to get into the industry. But when you finally get in. It's constant work but a lot of time away from home etc.
