  1. Why would you need carnet if you use Google maps? Just for the info inbetween the dials? Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  2. No worries, glad you got it sorted, it really does make a big difference getting it coded to the correct setting [emoji106][emoji41] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  3. Unfortunately not many organised meets on here, but then even the big ones have been cancelled lately anyway Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  4. It's possible the seals are not great, maybe check the carpets in the back too, fingers crossed it's not that! Could just be a blown speaker or some loose wiring, maybe from when the Helix was taken out? Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  5. Sounds like could be a faulty unit or faulty connection, hopefully connection as that would be cheaper, do you still have the Helix sub connected? Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  6. In nr BlueWater in Kent, I don't post the dongle out but if you want to pop round for coding just let me know [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  7. I got mine fitted at a garage didn't cost much I think 1hrs labour, I believe the actuators for the flaps just unscrew from the old exhaust and go on to the new one but for £60 I would just take it to a garage as I expect it has cost you a fair bit buying new anyway... 8. I think that is what's called a bullet dodged! Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  9. Only fiddly bit with the Helix is the small bit of wire swapping required, it is 99% removing trim and feeding cable through other than that [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  10. Just Man up and pull them out [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  11. It was just bad timing really, just didn't have the cash, but I guess could have stuck on the CC, had just bought the wingbacks, TVS TCU tune booked in, needed new tyres, had a Euro trip planned later in the year etc etc etc, since then got a BBK, downpipe and map, so many other new bits... Not many regrets but letting those B16s slip through my fingers is probably the biggest one [emoji24] As I said though happy with it as is stock and living where I do, lowering too much is an issue anyway... Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  12. I held a set in my hands that@Jon R306 was selling along with the wheels I bought off him, if I hadn't just spent big on my wingbacks I would have taken them, wish I still had but there you go... No regrets (yeah right) Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  13. Very hard to prove though, the dealer would rightly argue about driving style etc although if you had an absolutely comprehensive dealer service history then you may have some joy. Trouble is the mapping pretty much wipes out all hope of any kind of obligation from VW unfortunately even if that could be proven to have had nothing to do with the issue, which in this case would be hard to argue... 14. Always a trade off between grip/economy/wet and cold performance isn't there Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  15. I meant for you, not the car [emoji1787] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  16. An excellent tyre I'm sure, I have only used michellin in whatever flavour I could for rim size on my last 5/6 cars and never been disappointed so not likely to change anytime soon [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  17. And fit a snorkel! Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  18. Most members here who have a Golf run a 2l R so not sure we will have the right info for you unfortunately. I would find a VW specialist local and go and have a chat with them [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  19. Not having driven an R with either lowering springs of B16s I can't disagree, all I know is that I find the stock suspension without DCC pretty damn good [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  20. Sound like the kind that they only bother with if you actually ask Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  21. Hey I posted up my opinions on handling but hey it always seems to get personal with certain other members [emoji849] The joke thread stuff needed sorting out so hopefully that will be the end of that and no more stuff in there that offends anyone. I think a good rule is that if it could lead to prosecution if in the general social media domain then it obviously isn't suitable for an online car forum [emoji106] Hope you get your car handling just how you want it @Marcio Atouguia, I know mine is perfect for me with just a rear ARB, I thought it handled excellently out of the factory and the ARB just dialed out the slight bit of understeer that was probably built in for safety [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
  22. Maybe a forum twitter account could be started so all the hilarious stuff can be posted there too, with a link to the forum of course 👍 Used to be a genuinely funny thread with actual jokes and funny memes (mostly by @goodbadboy)
  23. Well said, seems transphobic porn is also ok now too 👍
  24. I know road rage, I went there once for a dyno run, they seemed to know what they are doing but a very small place just enough room for tgev dyno, an old sofa and a desk from memory. I expect they just out a generic map on, I know I wouldn't have got a map done there to be fair but not saying it was down to them at all, could have just been unlucky... 25. Out of interest any idea why it went bang? Oil starvation? Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
