You don't lose carplay but you could lose carnet depending on your current setup, I never used it either so never missed it [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

Ahhh I see [emoji106] Well I would say the DSG gearbox is one of the most reliable parts but I guess you never can be 100% sure. The TVS software really does transform the car, it's called driveability and they are not wrong. Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

Helix installation help/recommendation

As I said exactly what I found going from 18" Bridgestone to 19" Michellin, if anything a better ride and agree about not needing DCC 👍 -
Makes such a difference to how the car drives, if its a 6 speed 7R you can't have too much warranty left can you?

VW heavy duty under tray now fitted.
SpursMadDave replied to DustyBones's topic in VW Golf R MK7 Chat
Yep completely understand the reasons, I don't have to travel anywhere like that but fitted the bigger undertray just so oil sump wasn't exposed Pretty cold at the moment so wouldn't expect anything to get too hot! The oem one has ducts even though the sump is exposed so must be for a reason I guess but if you say the airflow under the car contributes little to cooling then fair enough not sure why they are there then [emoji106] I think if I had to travel on roads that bad I would have a cheap 4x4 with plenty of clearance just for the winter months... Lots of protection, hopefully won't cause any problems not having the venting on the drivers side [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk -

Mine was exactly the same Greg, I know as I have a P3 gauge that shows battery voltage, car hardly had enough juice to turn over but once it did it showed a decent voltage, went for a decent length drive about 25 mins, came home turned the car off and it was completely dead wouldn't turn over at all... Mine was very similar. If you have AA/RAC cover just call them and they will come out and test the battery properly and you will know one way or another. Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk -

Had to get a new battery a while back although my car has done a lot more miles and is older, once a cell goes it doesn't matter how long you try and charge it the battery is fubar Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk -

Very common problem especially with the low mileage you apparently do, a new battery will sort it all out I am sure and then maybe invest in a trickle charger to keep it in good condition between the infrequent drives [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk -

I guessed they were your wheels, especially when I heard it was trip up to Scotland to pick them up. They really suit[mention=27693] shuff27[/mention] car, a really nice looking wheel [emoji41] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk -
Yeah I went with the Remus sports cat for good fitment and have tried it non res, as you say very loud! Cold start up in particular! I'm going back to resonated as lived it just thought I would try out non res. Going back to the Audison I can see myself getting some components for the front and moving the fronts to the back possibly but will see. I miss the hertz set up I had in my 350z which was absolutely superb, the Audison will do me just fine for now, I thought expensive at £1,200 and as you say for £2k I would expect much better, but for £900 including free fitting (by myself) I can justify the upgrade and will make a little back from selling the Helix too [emoji106] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

Yeah it uses the factory tweeters and rears, pretty easy install much like a Helix which I done loads of so not sure why it would be £2k fitted, about an hour or 2 work at the very most. It will do for me as I have been haply with the Helix and apparently this is a big step up from that [emoji106] Your set up looks excellent, did you do much soundproofing, any tips or suggestions on what to use and where best to put it? Nice to meet you today John @shuff27 I can add installation of a Helix into an estate to my CV 😁 Hope the M25 is kind for the trip home 👍 -
Yes mine is a 7R and very loud in S with huge amounts of pops and bangs, it's not too bad in D but I'm sure it would be too much for most people! I only have a short trip to work so I love it too Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

A short sound clip, not the best quality and taken from inside the car, phone on the cover above the cup holders. Gives you a little idea of non resonated although mine is with a DP too. It's very loud and not for everyone! Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
