Hello, I have a stock Seat León Cupra 2017 which is almost identical to the VW golf gti performance in terms of parts. As there is not much information of how to add a little bit camber with stock suspensión of the cupra i was hopping to find the answer in this forum. I am not going crazy with It. Just ad some camber to increase front grip. (-1.5) Also what alignament do you recomend (toe and camber front and rear) Thank you!

Hi folks, I’ve recently bought a pair of RS3 8V 8pot calipers and TTRS 8S discs that I want to install to my mk7.5 R. My main problems are these: 1. I have a fresh set of PS5s that I want to reuse. Their measurements are 225/40/18. 2. I’m lowered on Bilstein B14s with 12mm spacers on the fronts. Although they don’t cause rubbing, it’s close to flush so I wouldn’t want to push the wheels further out. The current OEM wheels are 7.5j 3. I’ve spoken to Killer Brakes who say that the setup will fit with 18” wheels with a whopping ET38 offset. After some research it looks like this, in combination with 18” 8-8.5j wheels (most aftermarket 18s are this width) will likely push the wheels out further than the fenders and cause considerable poke (by my calculations, haven’t seen any actual pics of this exact setup). Is there a way I can reuse my 225/40/18 tyres with these brakes without an aggressive offset that causes them to poke out? I’ve heard about the fender screw mod but I don’t know if this will help as the wheels might poke out beyond the fender anyway. Thanks in advance

How’s things folks, new member and first post, looking for an Irish MK7.5 R or even a well spec’d GTI performance/ clubsport Must haves are; pan roof, stop start button, virtual dash (most have but I’ve seen a couple of rare ones without), leather interior, DSG, 5 doors, don’t want one with Cadiz wheels and no red cars, would consider any other colour, must have low milage also. Preferably standard and immaculately clean, don’t mind a few subtle mods using reputable parts. If anyone knows of any send me a pm with info please, appreciate it thank you for your time. 😊

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on here would be able to give some advice regarding the maintenance and or repairability of a mk7 golf leather steering wheel. I am the current owner of a mk7 golf r and my steering wheel is beginning to show marks and fade and I'm really struggling to bare with them. Hence the reason for starting this topic. I am aware of leather cleaning kits but it would be nice to get other peoples experiences before going ahead with any purchases. Any help or advice is much appreciated!!

I am looking to buy a Golf GTE (in the UK) and they seem to only come with the "figure hugging tartan sports seats". My wife finds these uncomfortable and I find them quite hugging (as the name suggests) and I'm not that big (6'2" 190lbs). The rest of the car seems fantastic but are there other options on these seats?

Hi. It's super hard to find any real life comparisons between dsg6 and dsg7 (i suppose thats dq380). Just ordered and gti 7.5 with a dsg6. But now considering going performance pack that comes with dsg7. I'm now on dsg7 dry (dq200) it's sucks..so slow to react and kind of boring, probably thats why i Test drove a new mk7.5 with a dsg6 (dealer didn't have dsg7 in stock). Are here any ppl that had dsg6 and now moved to new dsg7? Is it any better in terms of from still to full throttle latency, shifting faster, any ways better? Sorry if this place is a wrong place to post. I think its a same box that is in new R and also comes with 1.5 evo engines. Greetings from Finland!

So what do you guys think of the new Golf GTI TCR? https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/volkswagen-reveals-286bhp-golf-gti-tcr Personally i think, in terms of its styling cues it looks 😍. Why i don't understand is why VW don't give the R the options the have the nice detailing features, like the new front splitter design or special interior details like the highlights on the gear shifter and on the seats. Makes the R interior look a bit dull. Considering there is a mk7 GTI, GTI PP, GTI Clubsport 40 and Clubsport S is the TCR one too many??

Thought it might be best to have a home where I can put all the videos in 1 place for anyone who's considering the stage 3 kit offered by APR. All feedback is welcome positive and negative: Golf R Audi S3 Golf GTI

Hi, Just got court approval for the TDI settlement and am considering a GTI or R. Anyone else went through the same decision tree; what sway you one way or the other. Did you look at other similar cars? Finally, any regrets. Thanks for any inputs.

Yep, love it or loath it, the GTI Clubsport has certianly divided opinion amongst VWROC members. But spare a thought for the team of 13 young apprentices, who as part of their induction were given a bare Golf shell and told to come up with a proper show Golf, whilst the management team marched off to the local Bierkeller. No pressure then! What the team of 17- to 25-year-old apprentices from five specialties: interior fitting, paint, mechatronics, media design, and materials engineering came up with looks set to be pretty impressive, considering their age and experience. The exact specifications of the car will remain a mystery until the event, but we're sure it's more than a lick of PlayStation graphics. We'll keep you posted as news come through. UPDATE 14-5-15: GTI Dark Shine Rises.... So today it was revealed that the best students in the world have produced a 395hp GTI with a 3500 watt sound system. Well...they're young, but they seem to have got everything else right. Even the two tone Daytona Grey and R-400 yellow looks good. It also benefits from the usual tuner's box of tricks; ECU re-map, sports exhaust, intercooler and downpipe. They do love a dungaree in Wolfsburg!

New 7R Development from Peron Automotive. Thought this might interest a few of you. I had an opportunity to discuss some juicy info regarding GTI and 7R development last night with the MD of Peron Automotive. Just to give you some background info on Peron, they developed the Hybrid Turbo kits used in REVO's stage 3 Fiesta ST. They also have Stage 1+2+3 tunes for the Fiesta and Focus plus numerous parts including a mk6 Golf R Big turbo kit. There's some development on the way, without too many spoilers there will be a flash cable included, so you can put your car back to stock on your own, I Cant Wait! Hopefully Peron will become a sponsor in the near future to allow for group buys and such. R vs GTi PP This was done on a dual carriage way, no excessive speed was used. The GTI PP (DSG) in question has an AkrapoviÄ exhaust which according to the brochure bumps the horses up around 11HP. Which i have to say sounds absolutely beautiful on full chat, far better than any after market R exhausts I've heard in fact. My Rs bone stock (DSG). so you'd think this was roughly 300HP vs 241HP. All tests were from rolling starts from around 30mph+ and there was hardly anything in it, honestly I was shocked. As the speed increased it was noticeable that the R would increase the gap but to say the R has quite a big HP advantage there was not a lot in it! Apparently the GTi PP runs much higher HP than the 230HP quoted.. Anyway to summarise, if you want a huge step-up up in performance from the GTi a map is necessary! What are your thoughts / experiences.
