TTE525 Development

Recommended Posts

Damian's TTE525 equipped car with Miltek non res and Wagner intercooler.  Software is limited on boost due to the original DSG clutch not being able to hold any more torque.  Uprated clutch is currently being worked on, then plenty more power to come.  A quick test recorded an 8.3 100-200 time, but I expect that to come down when Damian does his own testing.

I've heard that APR's DSG file can handle the torque of the TTE525 . . Dandanfings on YouTube didn't get any slip with an MRC remap & TTE525 using the APR DSG file. IIRC he managed 520bhp with the limiting factor being the exhaust (sports cat)

maybe there is more clamping pressure to be had from these?

keep up the good work Rick!  :afro:

440lb i a lot of torque, the original clutch won't hold much more reliably.  This is a genuine 480bhp, We've seen other cars run on a lot of other Dyno's claiming much larger figures yet they don't seem to make it when we Dyno it.  This isn't just Golf R's but Diesel BMW's etc etc.

Have you dyno' any APR stage 1 car's?

Your figures for APR stage 2 seem way short of  their published figures.

I know it can be dyno lottery but APR stage 1 cars are supposedly producing healthy 370+ with intakes but without FMIC upgrades.

I am miles from you but your graphs look very smooth. I'm planning on APR stage 1 because I have a new outlet here in Somerset and know that their product is pretty consistent and delivery is smooth.

I know of one car throwing a rod running this kit so upgrading these are also essential

When my car was on a decat downpipe and stage 1 I had a few roll ons with my friends stage 1 APR car and literally walked away, the gap was a lot, a lot more than the difference of just a downpipe too.

Regardless of dyno figures the APR cars can't match the Unicorn cars on 0-100mph, 100-200kmh and over the quarter too.

I would say it would be close not as a far margin as you say.

So many factors to take into consideration, were you still using Ethanol? Did the APR car have bad fuel?

Did the APR car have the low output file flashed? Did he only have the 95 octane file flashed?

Our stage 3 car is  currently close to 500 BHP and over 450 ft lb with no DSG slip what so ever. Of course it is recommend

to upgrade the clutches when going that sort of power level or torque.

When running cars on our dyno we use SAE correction, Unless customer states otherwise.

Dyno numbers are just dyno numbers.

It should be used as a measuring tool for comparison to get a before and after figure then compare the deltas.

We both filled up at the same Tesco mate, even he was joking saying are you on ethanol so it was good to prove that I wasn't. Haha. He was on the high output file too.

Hopefully meeting up with Andy this weekend to finally Vbox his car.

That can be open to debate by others who may disagree as every car is different.

For me it is how well it performs on a circuit and chassis set up is more important than outright power figures.

A stage 1 APR, Revo, GIAC or Unicorn upgrade will be very impressive by any normal car performance!
