Privatedoc
Just now, T13RUN01 said: Yeah but average speed is missing a 1 at the beginning Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk it was an UP! in granny mode...cane it and it would still do 45mpg.....brilliant wee car and I walked away from a 60mph encounter with a Range Rover with only a retinal tear and a written off car, (engine knocked out of it!). should be every 17yr olds first car imho. camelsac2002
Hatchet Harry
Hi guys! Golf R estate done 13k... on motorway will average 42-44 in eco mode. Mix of 50 speed restriction for 20 miles then 20 miles normal motorway speed. However yesterday took it really easy. Got just over 50mpg. Hertsman
Have tipped over 40 a couple of times but no way can ever see how can get to 50 unless downhill all the way in coast I have not done too many miles in this heat so not sure the effect that has? My average after 6500 miles is 25.2 MPG which is mainly town, local with intermittent medium to long distance runs - Highest average achieved on a tank was 32 MPG the lowest was 23 MPG If not doing long A and Motorway runs and driving is predominately local to mid distance, then imagine 25-28 is the realistic expectation. JaseW
My 330d was knocking out 32 mpg on average and only saw it hit 40 twice. So with petrol being cheaper than diesel and the R dropping below 30 with my town and mixed B road driving I might be about the same in fuel costs. I haven't bought the R to worry about fuel anyway. navybalders
i drove to London recently, average speed cameras, variable limits, rush hour etc, but that said did pretty well.
Shug
I never really bother about mpg, just drive it and fill it up when near empty. If I was that bothered about mpg I'd consider a Prius (for about 5 seconds) Always used to joke with a Swiss colleague at work who drove a Prius and went on and on about his fuel economy, that he was my carbon offset buddy. I had a V6 car and a Fireblade at the time 😉 camelsac2002
