Plus the old one was usb-c to lightning. New one is usb-c to usb-c. Old v new.

I think the 30cm ones have been discontinued, but they are a really handy length. Might have to resort to eBay for one!

The new one is a bit too long (although I usually wirelessly connect) but the 30cm were a tad too short - need an in between length or one of those type that coil up so stay neat. I kept it because some family members still have iPhones with the lightning connector (archaic eh!) and although we have a million charging cables in the house you can guarantee that said family members will forget to bring one on long trips and moan the whole way. 😁 Nighthawk

Don't try fool us! 😆 I almost wish that was true, but I’m one of those very annoying organised people, and so when they say, “I’ve forgotten my charging cable”, I just put my hand into the centre console cubby and voila! My phone takes a different charging cable to the rest of the family as is a newer phone so we cannot share, so need both. 😄 Rossdh91 and Nighthawk
Peter Wynne
I picked up my motor on Friday! Absolutely love it.. I wasn't expecting to feel much difference from the mk8 - but it feels very different to me. Transmission has clearly changed a lot - plus DCC, which is new to me. Did a couple of longer runs in the terrible weather over the weekend and she's now filthy (thanks weather and gritters!), I've taken off Thursday and Friday this week to give her a good clean / polish and ceramic coating. Need to make space in the garage before then.. It was build week 48 - but don't see any extra parking features.. maybe am looking in the wrong place. Will create a new thread once I've done my detailing nonsense.. Feel too ashamed of the dirt to post any other photos Nighthawk, Booth11, TheJetMan and 8 others

It’s great to hear that your early impressions are good ones. I agree that the 8.5R feels much better in driving than the 8R (more responsive and minus any initial lag and bogging down of the DSG - well so far as I can tell). It really does feel like an upgrade in many ways. I think to find out if you have the remote parking you need to download the VW Park Assist app for your phone and the follow the instructions, and if you go into the cars Parking icon and have either a setup or remote controlled parking option in Parking settings, then you have it. Hope you have a few good days detailing the car and be sure to share some photos! PS - did they take the transport pucks out this time? 🤭 Nighthawk and nickhdesign

I'm going from a 7.5 to an 8.5 so am looking forward to seeing the difference there. Enjoy Peter!

I even drove it in Eco mode this morning (bumper to bumper traffic in rush hour) and it was much more drivable than I was expecting. Race modes are like putting a puppy on a lead for the first time "lemme go, I wanna go!" eager to pelt off down the road neilybealy, Foxy13, nickhdesign and 1 other
NWHighlander
Hi All, Mrs Mike collected her new 8.5 Lapiz BE, named Rolf, this morning from Inverness in poor and wintery conditions. She is very pleased with the way it handled the snow and ice on the journey over to the NW Highlands. Lots more to play with in the new MMI set up, more anon. Pictures will have to wait until we've had a decent day to clean him as now he is a very dirty car. Happy wife = Happy life (a new RS6 ?)
