I’d really like carbon fibre pieces (matt or glossy) to replace the piano black around the gear shifter but all I’ve seen so far are crappy carbon effect stickers. If anyone knows of such a thing is available please share a link.

Have a quick google image search, I don’t have a picture to hand but there’s quite a difference between 

Ahh ok, yes i’ve looked it up 👍🏽 Forged is not for me, i like the normal weave pattern.

Chris, be interested to see the Black Edition Osram dynamic indicators if you do get them fitted.  
 

When I ordered my R, I enquired about getting them (being a dealer fit accessory) but by the time the car was close to turning up and the dealership asked me if I still wanted them, I changed my mind as had decided to fund new tyres, but would still like to see how they are.   
 

@Scudgie John, did you ever get these animated Osram LED indicators fitted, as I remember you were planning to?

Can anyone confirm that these are the dynamic R caps that fit our Golf 8/8.5 ?

They only refer to trucks and lorries there, so can’t tell, but it seems to be them and the price seems moderate (relatively).

My thinking is that if the price is right, I’d get dynamic, and maybe wrap them.

I looked at those but was not sure they fitted the Golf R wheels so did not order them.  Whilst the Golf is not listed as an exception, the cars that are would appear similar. Having looked up the part number that they quote for the hub cap that fits the wheels I suspect they will fit but I have gone the VW dealer route now.

Hey Rebecca, I ordered these From eBay here last week and fitted them to my CS today. Very simple job, once you get the mirror caps off. Really pleased with how they look. The lens themselves are darker than the factory ones and the lights themselves seem a lot brighter too.

And was the price quite similar at VW ?

 

Seems excessive to me - 150£ for wheel caps

Maybe I’m just being stingy

Hi Joe, well that’s timely!  They look excellent, and sounds like they match the BE aesthetic better than the oem ones.  Glad you got them fitted all ok with no issues.  
 

That may be something else to add to my ‘list’ of stuff that I want but don’t need. 😄

Not the R ones but on the UK VW Configurator, the VW logo dynamic centre caps are £141.

I tried with a suction cup (which I bought for the wheel caps) and the glass didn’t budge, only the old fashioned way (pushing from the back with a trim tool + fingers.
