scuderiafolene
So I am now in the official paddle not working club. Was on track and on the cooldown lap after 8 minutes of session it got stuck in S. Also hit the royal flush in warning lights other the ones turned off. TPMS stopped working alltogether mid session. Sign recognition aswell. And some reverse bla bla function stopped working. Hard to focus on driving with all the beeping 😅🤣 AHG, MadMo and Msportman 2

It seems to manifest the paddle issue when the car is put under some sort of stress ?? Can’t see it being a steering wheel issue unless I’m wrong? This is the Sinclair C5 I was referring to; a single seater BEV that could be driven on public roads. Not something I’d want to have done, especially in high volume traffic conditions; No mk8.5 type software gremlins with one of these though (apologies for going off topic). AHG
With the right gearing it is more than enough The secret to EV motors is gearing as some small ones can produce good power at high rpm (up to 100k rpm and more) so a 1:100 transmission (internal usually) can make a small block create big torque and power

Like I stated. I drove pretty hard 10 minutes(not 8 like stated before), then went on a cooldown lap and half way trough it stuck. And worst part is I was doing like 80 in 7th, but when it got stuck in S it shifted down. So if it was a protection thing why shift down to put more stress... I am more and more convinced its some kind of unintentional error or a bug. Maybe something in the canbus that gets confused and blocks the receiver from paddle input and fail safes. There are no errors.. and there should be on a critical function.

When it showed up on my car, I’d been driving in Race mode but not particularly hard driving, but a mix of town and rural driving. For anyone experiencing it, perhaps you can add your experience to this thread ((read the opening post) if you haven’t t already. That will need some live data logging outside of the main dealers capacity …..VW seem only to work with fault codes from other responses at dealerships. Hopefully. Blizzard gets a solution. I know what I’d personally do is when it happens go straight to my local dealership and get the master tech to drive the car and record its issue even if there’s no fault code there’s an obvious fault. Leave the car there if possible. If they get awkward get the techs name and ring VW at LMilton Keynes explain the issue and then ring VW finance and tell them no more payments until it’s sorted. Being fobbed off is an insult when paying £££ per month for a faulty product and they have the cheek to retort there’s no faults. As I said if the factory are aware now (Mr Blizzard) then surely they can speed up the solution. scuderiafolene

It’s very poor stitching on yours. Mine’s not exactly high quality craftsmanship but it’s better than that. this is mad, I was searching this forum a few days ago to see if I could find anyone reporting issues like this and I didn’t find anything, which suggests this is a dip in standards from the MK8. I’ve noticed similar on my 8.5 Clubsport. Not quite as bad as yours there but I don’t remember ever noticing this in my previous MK8. The upholstery on both front seats is noticeably not that well fitted in my car tbh. scuderiafolene and Scudgie

That’s pretty poor Joe, and sorry to see another example of bad quality in addition to @scuderiafolene’s (stitching on my seats is actually ok) as this means it’s not an isolated issue. Are you going to take it up with VW?

I hate going back to dealers, serious pain, so it would want to be something really annoying me to warrant the hassle. I wonder what they’d do anyway? I’m guessing they’d attempt to replace the covers but I suspect that’s not an easy job and sure it could look as bad or worse afterwards. scuderiafolene

We need to keep volkswagen accountable. Its NOT a cheap car. I am going to dealers tomorrow with a nice list. Seats. TPMS turning itself off. Sign recognition turning itself off. Paddles not working. Paint job. I think we deserve the car we paid for - not more nor less. I am fairly lucky cause Swedish consumer laws are very harsh on this and I am certain they will fix it. I mean if they stich it together so it matches the other side without me seeing the difference I would be happy. I am not impossible. A new seat might have some different colouring.
