    corona

COVID testing is ramping up quite quickly in most hospitals which means symptomatic NHS staff will be able to be tested and brought out of self isolation (which will help). However, please expect this pandemic to be bad. Much better to be pessimistic and keep concentrating about how you interact with your environment and other people. Keep your hands clean and avoid touching your face, minimise your travel and avoid those pesky friends and relatives. That way you'll do your part in saving lives. Little traffic here down in Cornwall so I've been cycling into work each day, but I'm missing driving the R
  2. I used to shoot with Minolta equipment so naturally went to Sony (who bought their camera and mount technology). I was an early adopter of their mirrorless full frame cameras, having got tired of lugging kilos of equipment around. Pretty much all the major companies offer great products though. I still use some manual Minolta lenses on the new Sony cameras - the first and last of the following shots use an old Minolta Rokkor F1.2 58mm lens. It's great to mix old and new technology.
  3. Mine is a little laggy in eco mode but sprightly in sport. Which I guess is understandable
  4. Me too with all seasons tyres. I've been really happy with the handling of my Michelin CrossClimate plusses. Amazingly sure footed in all weather conditions.
  5. That must qualify as the worlds steepest street
  6. My R is only the second car I've ever bought new - the first was my first ever car, a Ford Fiesta in the 80's. Who cares what other people think. Just enjoy it.

    New bmw 135i

Not that impressed with the exterior, it seems very generic/kia-esque. Interior looks nice though.

  11. Maybe you need to vinyl wrap your foot. There was a time golfs were sold as being rattle & squeak free -

  17. I don't disagree. It may be repairable, with an element of risk.

    Rolex deals

I guess my taste in watches matches my current taste in cars - understated quality, in black. I have one of these - https://www.junghans.de/en/junghans-collection/watches/maxbill/maxbill-maxbillchronoscope/027-4601-00/model/detail.html
  20. The reverse logic is the insurance company should pay up if you have an accident and you claim the other driver is at fault. And later on if that turns out not to be the case you promise to refund the amount they awarded you. How often does that happen? Let's face it, most insurance companies will try and get away with whatever they can to avoid paying and maximise their income.
  21. The issue for me is innocence until proven guilty. I don't see why an insurance company should have the right to levy an additional charge not clearly identified in the original contract until a firm outcome of the offence has been decided on. It strikes me a opportunism and bad faith by the insurance company.
  22. In your shoes I'd probably auto-renew but be sure to inform your insurer as soon as you know the outcome of the NIP. As you say, nothing is confirmed.
  23. I washed and polished the car today and filled up with Tesco Momentum. Then I went for a spirited drive in sports mode! I feel certain it glided through the air more easily 😀
