  1. I could be completely wrong.. and Nige maybe able to explain the engineering principles better.. by adding the extra pipe the res-delete in theory becomes a sort of Helmholtz resonator: which can then alter the sound of the exhaust note; thus potentially reducing loud and obnoxious engine noise which we would call ‘drone’. 2. all booked in at my local tyre/exhaust fitters for Friday afternoon.. have too many projects on the go at work to get it on my R sooner.. will (hopefully) post a video then.. don’t have access to anything fancy for making the recording other that iPhone.. and using YouTube as a platform to share; that’s about the extent of my technical knowledge of being able to post it [emoji23]! 3. this arrived this morning.. super excited [emoji14] and can’t wait to get it fitted on my R! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. probably best to check out BCS Powervalve website first, and then give Nige a call.. https://www.powervalve.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=299_308_398_546_408_540 please note that the link above is for MK7 R wagon.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. sorry don’t know how to post a link to my thread.. if you search for ‘M52’ you will find my post on the subject! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. the R is due for a MOT soon.. so will get it fitted at the same time.. I use my local family run tyre and exhaust fitters.. they have done my 19” wheel upgrade, Mountune M52 front/rear discs & pads, and RS3 brake ducts! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. have put an order in for a BCS res-delete last week.. can’t wait to get it installed on my 2016 MK7 wagon! will post some unboxing pictures, and review.. has to be said: my wife is going to have my balls! ohh, the dangers of having the internet in one hand and credit card in the other [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. just had this ghost walk over my grave.. lowenbrau beer.. this stuff makes me burp after a sip, and (ashamed to say) go into full on fighting mode after a pint!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I am a self confessed Le Man 24hr and GT3 24hr nutter.. How about a road going version of Porsche 919.. [emoji1786] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I do love VW.. Was quoted £184 for service and £137 for spark plugs via email; £321 in total. Tried to book it in, but no reply for over a week, so decided to phone them directly.. where I was informed that the price is £299 for minor service; as the R has ‘special oil’! After discussions the price came down to £204. Finally.. they agreed to honour the original quote (which I have on email).. The price now seems like a good deal.. as getting a minor service and spark plugs for £22 on top of what a normal service would have been without haggling! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Did you use VW dealer network or are you a humble-mechanic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Above is the quote from the indy [emoji383][emoji383][emoji383][emoji383][emoji383][emoji383] have asked VW for a quote and it’s approx half the price.. for service and plugs.. but they have yet to confirm if the coil packs are included in the price. £184 for service and £137 for plugs.. 14. I am handy with a spanner and have dangerous levels of enthusiasm.. so would like to do myself.. but my missus said ‘but I need to trust that the car is safe at 70mph’.. [emoji23] bless her, that’s love that is [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks for the advice guys.. just found this on DAP.. which is saying change at 60K along with 2nd haldex service. So will probably get the spark plugs changed this year.. or next year will potentially be expensive; plugs, haldex and possibly serpentine belt. Don’t really want to go back to VW, previous shocking customer service, and would rather spend money with an independent specialist like MCR who are not too far away.. bust received a quote from an indy for service, spark plugs and coil packs.. and almost shit myself at £600+ [emoji15].. might eat some humble pie, swallow my pride and ask VW; so that I can compare.
