Esso Synergy +99 Ron from 14 Oct (UK)

Not sure if anyone has posted this but i just got a trade link to following, saying Esso are launching their 99 ron throughout the UK next week (other than in the NW).

Personally pleased with this, as gives more option for the R (as i'm fussy re being 98+), one of my nearest garages is Esso and our Tesco's pfs locally is closed for the moment.

Hm. Well I stopped ever getting momentum after someone discouraged me, citing that less people buy it, resulting in the petrol sitting there and losing condition. They didnt prove it but I just took their word for it and just use V Power. But this could be good stuff too

Primarily use V Power but on the odd occasion have filled up with Momentum.  Neither are available in my most local area, the nearest Shell and Tesco being several miles away. Esso however, are on my doorstep so good to know. That said I’m invested in my Shell loyalty card 😁 and quite like the excuse to have a nice drive to fill up!  It also actually improves my mpg after a lot of city driving.

I’ll either use shell or momentum also. Can’t say I’ve noticed any difference between the two.

Thanks for the heads up, Jamie. Good to know, especially when miles from home and getting low.    Luck me has a Shell station minutes away and Tesco a bit further.   V Power ensures the local resource Gets our trade

Always filled up with Tesco Momentum, used vpower once or twice, but find the price difference huge between vpower and Momentum.

Occasionally had to use sainsburys (97ron), r has never blown up on it so thats fine to use - i appreciate fuel cap states 98 Ron prefered, but even had 95 ron in my car on rare occasions.

Good to know I can add Esso to my list, as "posh" fuel seems to have a 7p premium round my way now, (use to be 5p).

I mainly use Tesco 99 as we shop there and get the points. I do sometimes use Shell 99, never notice any difference except in my wallet. Will be good to have another option. Not sure where my nearest Esso is though 🧐

I’m the same. My momentum supply is 1 mile from me so tend to go there.

Shell is half a mile away and Tesco is 7.  The round trip negates the savings of going to Tesco BUT I can get to Tesco via a scenic B road drive 😊.

Similar here. Shell and Tesco are both 7 miles away (Esso is a mile) from where I live but I find my average mpg improves with the longer drive for the fuel if I’ve been doing lots of city ring road driving. 😁

I’m often near the Shell garage en route to work site visits so that edges it over Tesco, and on those occasions kill two birds with one stone.  Just about to do that now. I find Shell’s changed loyalty scheme is designed to encourage you to visit their forecourts more often (no doubt trying to get more spend out of you once you’re in the shop 🙄).  I used to only go to fill up when I needed a full tank but now just top up as and when I’m near one.
