I know it's an expensive option but from the photos it looks worth it. I assume it's the same quality as the MK8R? Booth11

I loved the leather interior in my mk8 and it held up beautifully over the years, so it was one of the first boxes I ticked for this car. The seat heating and air cooling and the heated steering wheel on the 8.5 seems a bit quicker to reach temp than the mk8 but I might be imagining that but then again, maybe not. 😄
TurboTrev
11 hours ago, Booth11 said: I haven’t had much time in the car yet Trev, but Comfort mode is now the default mode (and is what Sport was on the mk8R). The car starts up in Comfort and the gearbox is in D. If you go into manual with paddles in this mode it will default back into auto after a short time. Sport mode is the ‘sporty’ mode with higher idle and gearbox starts in S and is probably the most suitable for what you describe. If you go into manual in this mode it stays in manual unless you decide to come out of it. Race is sportier still (but same idle revs as Sport). Manual as in Sport mode. Then of course there’s Special (gearbox in S+) and Drift if it has PP or is Black Edition. There’s Eco too if you like that kind of thing! 😄 Here’s a snippet from the user manual. Under Sport mode it states that in R models the DSG will be in D, but it is actually in S. I think they’ve copied that over wrong from the mk8 user manual. As ever, many thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed reply.👍 While I'm no boy (pensioner) racer, I have never even tried eco mode in any of my cars.🤣
NWHighlander
Car has under gone PDI but still carrying the protective gear, so we dropped in to see it on our way through Inverness. Decided delivery on 6th was a better date for all concerned. The car looks very impressive, again lapiz. One thing did catch my eye and that is the large unprotected gaps in the front splitter that opens up the potential for stone damage to the exposed coolers. The standard wheels look very in keeping, the lit VW badge is a gimmick, but I do like the shape of the new headlights. Didn't take any pics, but will post when car is home. Needless to say Mrs Mike is chuffed with her Christmas present. Mike Booth11, scoobyc, Kevinb and 1 other

Congrats to Mrs Mike - nice that she has had a sneak preview of her Christmas pressie and is happy with it.

On my Tiguan R those big gaps have proved very good for scooping up small birds which dart out from the verge. They really could do with some finer mesh behind them. TheJetMan
Today was the day! Pickup Day! Words can't begin to describe how amazing she looked in person! The entire dealership were taken aback by how good the white looks and I have to agree! The drive home was surreal and think I'm going to be having too much fun! Just for clarification, this is the R Black Edition with the 19" Estoril Black Alloys, Pano Roof and Harmon Kardon. Any questions feel free to ask! She will be having her own members ride thread shortly! stan1000, Sicsy, Nighthawk and 9 others

The cloth is not to my taste either but I know that plenty do like it. The leather in the mk8 is miles better than the leather of the mk5, mk6 and the mk7. A different league. And it doesn’t sag like it did on the mk7. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with it. Geeza

Getting the spa treatment as she should. Be sure to share the post detail pics of her royal princessness in all her glory. Pabs is very good, had a nice run out in him today (for work purposes) - a very enjoyable jaunt it was to the coast. He hasn’t yet had even a 1 day treatment let alone 3 but he’s soldiering on.
