Sorry I forgot you had to first go into the Focus option (2nd item on the left pane), and then choose Surround left side along the top. This picture has got me worried! I picked the car up on Saturday and on Sunday I had to go away on business for two weeks! I remember going though the menu systems and in audio settings it looked like my old 8 which didn’t have HK. It didn’t look like that pic at all. I definitely have the HK speakers and sub but is it possible I have not got the software?? Or did I miss a button. Can’t check for another week and a half but it’s driving me crazy.

I had HK in my mk8 so don’t know what the screen looks like with the standard system. Of course that pictorial background (on the EQ screen) will change depending on which of those 4 options along the bottom is selected. Fingers crossed it’s just misremembering or you didn’t tap on something.
Sicsy
Sorry for this question, you can tell this is my first Golf! 😂 But do I really have to double press the unlock button on the key to unlock the rear and passenger doors? If I just press unlock once then only the driver’s door unlocks. I understand it is something to do with Safelock but is there any way to change that? I can’t find it in the infotainment system…

Can't remember for the life of me how I did this though. It might be one of the convenience settings in the Vehicle Menu Sicsy

I can’t find it in the infotainment system… If you go into the main screen (with all the icons) and tap the Vehicle icon and then choose ‘Exterior’ tab along top, then swipe screen once and tap ‘Opening and closing’, scroll down to central locking and you can change it so that one press of the unlock button on the fob unlocks all doors. It’s nothing to do with safelock. Safelock only relates to locking the vehicle. A single press on the lock button on the fob, deadlocks (Safelock) the car. A double press deactivates Safelock. Tethias
Anyone else's 8.5 have a crazy almost 2 seconds delay between pulling the stalk for the front windscreen wash and anything actually coming out? Was basically instant on my old 7.5!

Was basically instant on my old 7.5! I noticed this too! Apparently there’s no non-return valve fitted which means the fluid drains all the way back into the bottle rather than staying in the pipe - it’s better in deep winter as it’s less likely to freeze, but it’s annoying for the other 48 weeks of the year…

AHG
I think it was like that at least since the 90’s, as my mk4 and all later VWs did the same (except for my ‘73 beetle, which used spare tyre air pressure to spray the water on the (tiny) windshield). It is even longer for the rear window, BTW, due to the longer route probably.
Tethias
Fair enough! As long as it's normal 😂
Nighthawk
Hi 👋🏽 question regarding the air care. On the MK8 i used to press on a certain button that would clean the air in the cab, it would show the cab with vale that would slowly cover from one side to other demonstrating the motion and the gradual area that has been dealt with. Does it no longer show this motion? I’ve clicked on the air care button but it does not seem indicate if anything is being done 😬 Is this how it is now, or am i missing something 🤔 i like to know if my little rippers💨 have been dealt with and the air is neutralised 😂🤣 AHG

I’ve not come across the visual representation of the air care doing its sweep across the cabin like on the mk8. You just have to get an extra strong air freshener to mask your natural scents. 😂 Nighthawk

What I have seen is (early days of the car) that only if you go into the AC menu and turn AirCare on over there it will show a line filling up along the circumference of the “button” in the screen, to show its progression, and when done, it will revert to a normal setting, which is not necessarily what you had it on before. I barely use that route, so not sure if it hasn’t changed with SW versions (will try and remember to check tomorrow). What I do in my mk8 is put up an AirCare shortcut button on the pull down menu, and that will work the same as in your mk8.5, meaning it will stay on until you turn it off and not show progression. That is what I use, along with a ReCirculation shortcut button, having both allows me to avoid any use of the AC menu screen. The best thing about the AirCare shortcut button is that auto fan level, etc) so for me the AirCare shortcut along with the ReCirc shortcut make the AC menu completely unnecessary (I use it maybe twice a year, just to verify it is as I left it - fan auto medium, all hatches open, sync).
