  1. Hi, I have a 7.5 R and a Porsche 718 GTS with the full upgraded leather interior. I checked the inside of the Porsche seats and they are also cloth lined so I'd say its definitely there to stop squeaks rather than cost cutting
  2. I've had 3 R's with Dynaudio and all 3 had speaker caused vibration in the front door cards which involved removing cards and putting weather stripping around the edges to damp it. Once thats done sound quality v good in my humble opinion. Sound is a little heavy on bass without tweaking but miles above standard system which i've heard in other Golfs.
  3. Rarely use the voice control but the non pro system I had on the 1st golf this year had it too and I didn’t spec it as an extra so may be standard on both systems.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Due to an issue with DCC missing from the car I got it January I've had both systems (I got Nav Pro FOC on the 2nd car I got a few weeks ago due to mess up). Is it worth the money, probably not although the additional features are nice. Differences I notice day to day... Home screen on pro is nice. Displays map, phone contacts and music act the same time. Map graphics are 3D in Pro. Landmarks show up as colour 3D graphics and building as well. Route choice system makes still awful. Doesn't pick logical route Big screen looks nice and in my opinion cleaner looking than standard system. Fair enough volume knob was handy but never used other knob. Resolution looks the same in both systems When using route guidance can use different zooms on both screens so can get a much wider overview of journey. Handy to keep a DVD in the drive when you're stuck waiting for someone, kills the time Gesture control a gimmick but I do use it when flicking through songs. Doesn't work on CarPlay though System in general also much quicker than standard one Probably a few other minor bits and pieces. Having had both, would I pay the premium on my next car? TBH yes, but I like gadgets and tech
  5. Hard to really pick out from sound clip. They’re a basic McPherson strut suspension. I’d get shock pulled and checked. You can tell when spring removed whether it’s been damaged and check anti roll bar drop links at the same time Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Just to warn anyone in a 7.5R that the public beta is a little buggy with CarPlay. Works fine till you put the car in reverse which crashes the CarPlay link and you have to re pair the phone after. I've had 2 Rs this year one with Discover Media and the one I picked up yesterday with Discover Pro and they both do it
  7. Totally get where you’re coming from. Think anyone would feel the same! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Escalate it up the Joe Duffy chain. Their board and contact details are listed on their website. I'm in the trade and have always used Joe Duffy Swords. Never had an issue with them and service dept seems V good. Parts dept excellent. As for buying a car....different story completely. No updates whatsoever and wrong spec car delivered
  9. OMG go to dealer and collect the car! Why miss out on the experience??!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Dealer gave me the original carbon fibre ones for free due to him not returning my calls. Have to say they're very well made and fit perfectly. They're also 100% carbon fibre as opposed to after market ones which are laminated
  11. Afraid it’s a 5 door.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Heard from dealer earlier that VW Ireland put a priority order in to Wolfsburg and it’s gone into production already so if anyone wants a 181 Indium grey ‘without DCC’ say there’ll be one kicking round in a few weeks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Got the carbon fibre mirror covers today VW gave me free of charge for a mess up. Think they definitely work better with the grey than the silver ones Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. TBH Joe, I’d have lived without DCC myself although I did use comfort mode a fair bit on the last one. Flip side is race mode is more usable on the non DCC car since it doesn’t turn into a brick! Either way not going to stare a gift horse in the mouth... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Joe Duffy VW in Swords. Can’t argue at all with what they’re doing to remedy what in reality is a fairly minor mistake. Standard suspension a little harsh but I’ll ‘cope’ for 3 months! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
