The app is a wonderful piece of software if you ask me.

10 minutes ago I opened it and it said the car was unlocked. 10 minutes later it's locked 🤣

App is horrible. And if its any comfort, its just as shit on my Tig. It just says "something went wrong" when starting the heater. Utter crap.

@TheJetMan your steering wheel issue is reported in the latest issues of Car magazine.

Golf R does really well in the article, and they say what many on here have said: The MK8.5 is a considerably improved car to drive.

Well shut me down and call me Cindy! Let's hope this puts a fire up VW's backside!!!

Forget that. I’m doing what they used to do in the 60’s to get things done, lay in front of the factory exit until they give me my new multifunction steering wheel buttons!

Just don’t superglue yourself to the tarmac or they’ll think you’re a Just Stop Oil bod.

I too now have experienced the non responsive paddles on my journey home from work tonight.

What’s the process of getting the issue raised to an appropriate level?

Sorry to hear your vehicle has now succumb to the same paddle issue. Allow me to introduce myself, I’m TheJetMan, CEO of the “paddle club” - The club no one wants to be in. Welcome aboard! 👍🏻

So, although the factory state a fix is in process, namely redesigning the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel which is the apparent cause of the issue, there is no ETA. However, the more people that raise it as an issue, the more pressure they will be under to release the fix and/or issue a recall.

Here is the process:

1.) Get your vehicle booked in at the local dealer stating the issue you are having.

2.)Your dealer will do a download of your vehicle and tell you no faults have been found.

3.)Request your dealer raise a “technical enquiry” with the UK technical team regarding the issue who are now aware of the issue after I forced them to speak with the factory at Germany.

4.) The technical team will instruct to place the repair “on hold” and from that point, I would suggest on a fortnightly basis, chase up the service manager of your dealership asking for updates.

IF the technical team try and fob you off, like they did with me, tell them to contact the factory in Germany directly who will quickly tell them it is a known fault. (Just encase you get someone else from the technical team.)

Any issues, just shout!

Welcome to the party pal! T-shirts are in process! 👍🏻
