My instinct would be that it is a software issue with the interface between the DSG control software and the steering wheel software - fix might be revised software or revised control unit. That’s my thinking too. Seems to make more sense than the steering wheel buttons being the cause. I guess we’ll find out in time when VW work it out. I haven’t had it manifest on mine yet despite using manual quite frequently, but expect it. Have you experienced it on yours Chris?

Nope but have only done 267 miles in total of which 191 miles was the drive down from Doncaster.🤔 I was away half of January and half of February so not had much chance to drive the car other than to/from Heathrow. They were great and took it straight into the workshop to plug it in and read the codes. Their view was that its a faulty lower rear light cluster (passenger side) so have ordered me a new one albeit its on backorder, none in the UK or Germany. They did say that VW make them jump through hoops for warranty claims so it will need the full diagnostics submitting which they couldn't do as a walk in but fingers crossed it all gets sorted once the parts turn up. So after a month+, my car is finally sorted. The new rear light cluster took a month to arrive but has sorted the issue. They haven't had these ever fail before so no VW OEM stock for dealers and its ring fenced from new car production stock so had to wait. But all good now. Big shout out to Parkway Northampton for chasing it down and fitting me in asap once the part arrived. Mine is a DTD car so not sourced from my local dealer but bravo to them for great service. Glad for you that the lights have been sorted and you had a good experience with your local dealership. I hope you can get on and enjoy the car properly now. nn7man

42ac
After 530 trouble free miles.... Started the car yesterday, did the usual turn off lane assist, speed limit nanny but it wouldn't let me turn off auto stop start. Got a message saying "function not available". So after my drive I tried again, still wouldn't let me disable start stop.. I tried again today and all good. Strange. On a separate issue, had a blow out driving home last week. Heard a loud phsssss and the tyre deflated in seconds. Luckily only 100 yards from home so I limped back. Only had a tyre pressure warning after I had the tyre replaced (a 10mm shard of metal in the tyre, not repairable), not when I had the blown tyre. The TPMS on these golfs doesn't seem to work when needed. One thing to note, these Hankooks seem to have strong side walls. No damage to my wheel. Bonus!
