The only thing I can think of to check, if you check in My VW, does it have the images on there?

If you click on Driving Data, and when that loads click the back button to go to the main page. Mine shows a slide deck of renders underneath the VIN (of which one is the one that displays in the app).

You can also log out and back in (which I just checked) or reinstall the app. (not that I expect it would make any difference)

Golf R does really well in the article, and they say what many on here have said: The MK8.5 is a considerably improved car to drive.

It's the (5th) February issue of Car Magazine, but I can't get a link to read it unless you have Readly. I couldn't find it anywhere else

The CAR magazine article is in March edition of CAR magazine which is on Apple News+ if you subscribe to Apple News. The article compares the 8.5R to the BMW M135 and Mercedes AMG35. The Golf comes first, Merc 2nd and BMW last.  The review does highlight what I would agree with about the 8.5R in that it is a much improved car compared to the 8R. Performance, responsiveness and handling being the key improvements. You also have the infotainment improvements albeit with more than a smattering of VW gremlins.😂

Thanks for the suggestions, nah I still get the same on the My VW app and the images are not loaded.

Its never worked for me, I'll email the VW support team to see what they suggest

Does the little bar and flag ever progress further than this? Not sure what the point is otherwise!

Anyone else having problems when making calls with Apple Car Play in an 8.5?

Spotify and BBC Sounds stream perfectly.

Have tried in and out of the charging cradle and also with the VW USBC cable.

Happens all over the place so is not linked to signal strength either.

iPhone is fully up to date on iOS 18.3.1 and works fine with AirPods and BOSE Bluetooth headphones out of the car.

Really annoying.

No issues with mine.  What happens, does it let you dial but not connect?

 

I. Know it’s the obvious, but have you tried deleting the phone and re-pairing it?
