Started the car yesterday, did the usual turn off lane assist, speed limit nanny but it wouldn't let me turn off auto stop start. Got a message saying "function not available". So after my drive I tried again, still wouldn't let me disable start stop.. I tried again today and all good. Strange. On a separate issue, had a blow out driving home last week. Heard a loud phsssss and the tyre deflated in seconds. Luckily only 100 yards from home so I limped back. Only had a tyre pressure warning after I had the tyre replaced (a 10mm shard of metal in the tyre, not repairable), not when I had the blown tyre. The TPMS on these golfs doesn't seem to work when needed. One thing to note, these Hankooks seem to have strong side walls. No damage to my wheel. Bonus! Sorry to hear about your tyre. I’ve had two punctures on mine since I got it in late Dec. One did trigger low pressure warning, that was two sharp stones that wedged into the tyre and air could be heard escaping. The other didn’t trigger it, but probably because it was a screw that essentially sealed the puncture.
AHG
I had two events, a screw and a tear from a pot hole, both would have been unnoticed by me unless the TPMS had warned me, and I checked to learn I lost 8-10psi (so still drivable, just a slow air loss). I think it works well when it identifies an over 6psi difference that happens slowly, but may not react to sudden changes. Perhaps VW assumes that you’d feel a sudden complete loss of air, so no need for a warning 🙂 like using a storm horn after the storm is here

How can they refuse to raise an enquiry!? I'd call and make a complaint bud and ask to the speak to service / dealership manager. 100% you've been fobbed off. I had the same issue with the first dealer I took it to. Don't take no for an answer bud. So...back in for the 2nd visit... to actually get a technical enquiry logged after them refusing last time. Only to turn up to be told I hadn't booked a courtesy car when I 100% had. Left, after kicking up a bit of a stink about it, arrived at work, to then get a phone call to say, they've listened to the recording of the call from when i rebooked, and yes I had requested a courtesy car. So then had to return to the dealer to get them to file the report. Absolute circus...if they'd have just done what i asked the last time the car was in, this shambles of a visit wouldn't have been necessary.I'm up to about 5 hrs wasted and god knows how much in fuel now...all to just get them to log it with VW. They don't even need your vehicle to log a technical enquiry though, that's the thing! Got to go through the motions I suppose....My service manager has chased up Germany and I am currently awaiting a response...

Yes exactly, it's like pulling teeth with them...I understand they have procedures to follow, and I get it, I do at work...but the whole thing could have been made a lot slicker.... They've told me the report will now be sent to VW.... I've absolutely no doubt I'll end up chasing them up in a few weeks having heard zero from them. Geeza
Just booked mine in with the local stealers for 2 things. 1. Drivers side wiper hits the upright, guess a spline out. 2. Passenger seat indents( seat back and base) It will be interesting to see what the dealer says about the seats.
mahalo
The wiper adjustment is actually carried out using diagnostic software at the dealers to set the limits rather than removing the wipers BTDT. Very quick job - they offered to do it as I waited. I have not done much driving in the rain but suspect my 8.5R might have this issue too. Changed the wipers to Bosch - drivers side went in really easily but could not get the passenger side one to fit. Eventually had to shave some plastic off the spigot of the Bosh fitting to get it to fit. Geeza

They have forwarded the findings onto the technical team, who have confirmed they have seen a growing number of cases with the same symptoms. They are currently working on a software update (not hardware as initially thought) They'll be in touch once it's ready to roll out

Captjack
Just about a week into ownership and love the car, the only issue so far is connecting iPhone to the car, sometimes it does sometimes not. Sometimes waze works ok but Spotify won’t play or it’ll play one track then stop, if it’s all working and you try to change track it freezes weather on the steering wheel or on the screen, anybody had similar?. Tried all the tricks, restart the phone, delete apps etc etc.
AHG
Are you connected wireless or wired ? Or both ? Happened to me when it connected itself to wireless and then I cabled in, and it wasn’t sure where to take the music from. All else worked well. Usually it reestablishes on its own, but on a couple of occasions it wouldn’t and had to turn phone off and on.
Phil2025
My Internet radio for the last couple of days isn't working, anyone else having issues? Car has Internet access as 'Hello Volkswagen' will happily tell me stuff that it fetches from online, and the app is syncing with the car just fine. When I try to access any Internet Radio channel it just shows the waiting animation for a couple of minutes before giving up. The globe is solid white on the display showing connected to online services. I've tried holding the Info screen power button and forced it to reboot, but still no joy. It’s an iPhone 16, did all the on and offs on the phone and the car, it just seems to be random.
