Does it also happen with downshifting or are those quick ?

And there is just one track I believe where 7th would be needed, ratio is pretty good in 6th. 0 issues with downshifts as far as I´ve noticed. Will do some runs with ESC off tomorrow see if it wakes something up.

If you have a lifetime membership (which some of us that had an original OBDeleven dongle have) then you only need to buy the next generation dongle, no need for the Pro annual subscription as your lifetime membership should work. Just need to register with your existing details. Not specifically intended as a response to Rebecca's words above, but more as general information for those here that have an OBD11 account associated with the incorrectly named "lifetime membership"- the stuff below was prompted by a similar issue over on the Vortex forum. As with most things in life -the devil is in the detail - and so-called "OBD11 lifetime membership" ain't an exception! I've thieved the extract below from the recently modified clause 26 on the OBD11 Terms and conditions webpage (to comfirm-expand the "Software and Hardware" section HERE) : 26. The OBDeleven "Lifetime VAG Pro" Plan, is applicable solely within the OBDeleven VAG application, grants users access to specific Pro functionalities for Volkswagen Group cars (Long Coding, Adaptations, Basic Settings, Subsystem coding, Output test, Gateway list coding, Change diagnostic service, Security Access, SFD Unlock, and Unlimited vehicles on the account). This Plan is non-transferable to the main OBDeleven application, and excludes access to any new vehicle brands, features or functionalities developed after June 15, 2021. "Lifetime" access is defined by the lifespan of the VAG App, with OBDeleven reserving the right to alter or discontinue the OBDeleven VAG App or its services at any time. The sentence that I have highlighted is particularly relevant for OBD11 users with a "lifetime membership" given that the deities on the OBD11 mother-ship have announced; [OBDeleven is] beginning a gradual migration of Volkswagen Group diagnostics and One-Click Apps from the OBDeleven VAG app to our main OBDeleven app. (read HERE) Now, the actual demise of the VAG App hasn't happened yet and AFAIK, no formal decision has been placed in the public domain about "lifetime membership". However, this don't matter because OBDeleven's future intention regarding this matter is crystal-clear from my highlighted sentence in Clause 26 above. So, bottom-line: the definition of "lifetime" as understood in official OBD11 speak ain't really the same as I suspect most here assume from the plain English meaning of the word! AHG
Even a lifetime ends at some point Lifetime is not the same as eternal or infinite I think it will take a couple of years before they kill the VAG app For some reason they didn’t activate Pro features in it fir VAGs only diagnostic and apps But they might surprise us and announce tomorrow that it’s dead What may be also the case is that the new OBDeleven 3 will use the new app so the I’d expect the lifetime sub to not work with it Disclaimer: my post here is all speculation with no information
Booth11
I’m surprised that the ‘Lifetime’ hasn’t been completely done away with yet. Every day with it is a bonus! I had this email from OBDeleven last week: Hi Rebecca, We’re making changes to our subscription plan pricing structure starting July 29, 2025. With this update, pricing for digital plans will be revised. If you’re considering upgrading, you still have access to the current prices until the change takes effect. As part of these upgrades, we’re evolving our PRO and ULTIMATE plans to cover all officially licensed brands, not just VAG. That means your plan from July 29, 2025 includes BMW and Toyota Group too (and more brands as they're added, of course). OBDeleven plan PRO VAG and ULTIMATE VAG are officially becoming PRO and ULTIMATE. Frequently asked questions What will happen to my existing PRO VAG or ULTIMATE VAG plans? PRO VAG and ULTIMATE VAG users will be automatically converted to PRO and ULTIMATE plans, keeping the same features plus extra benefits. Will my subscription price increase as my ULTIMATE and PRO plans convert? No, if you already purchased the PRO and ULTIMATE plans (previously PRO VAG and ULTIMATE VAG), you won’t have to pay the price difference. The price you paid is locked in until the end of the period (12-month, 24-month, or 36-month) or whatever remains of it. What will change for lifetime VAG PRO users? Our FirstGen LIFETIME VAG PRO users will be able to use functionalities as before, but only in the OBDeleven VAG app. The plan will NOT automatically convert to PRO or ULTIMATE and will NOT work with all licensed brands or the new OBDeleven app.
Jay Psi
Had my first bong-fest over the weekend. I can't remember exactly which warning lights came on, but they went away after a few seconds and have not come back on despite ~10 cold starts since. No changes were made to presets or custom settings. My first thought was the hard-wired dashcam, but the voltage protection was set 12.8V. I also turn start-stop off everytime I drive. Did the bongfest occur at a cold start or was the car at temperature from an earlier journey? Have you downloaded / purchased anything from the VW shop? What dashcam do you have? How is your dash cam hardwired - is it fed by a permanent live and set to record in parking mode (noting what you say about the minimum voltage)? Many thanks
TheJetMan
Now have an "Error - Airbag" warning come up on the dash every time I start the car with a yellow airbag warning light to accompany it.... Final straw for me and VW. First the paddle issue, now this. M135 order put in. TurboTrev, Booth11 and Scudgie 2

Many thanks Thanks - seeing others on here mention it so often definitely softened the blow. I would have been bricking it without the prior knowledge. To answer the questions: Cold start - car last driven ~80 hours prior No purchases/downloads from the VW shop - this thread warned me away from that! Viofo A329S 2ch - I was concerned about battery drain, hence the highest setting for minimum voltage Permanent live to battery via fuse box, for parking recording as you surmised I didn't have as many warnings as others who have posted about it. I reckon ~5 separate lights and a couple of warnings. Should it happen again I'll try to take note of them. Scudgie

I do hope you have a much better experience with the 135i and put the issues of the R behind you.

Booth11
On the subject of stop start not kicking in, although I am in the habit of disabling it every journey, I decided a while back to stop doing that to see how often it would kick in. It’s been weeks now and it’s not kicked in at all, so imagine my surprise when I stopped at a junction today and the engine cut out. For a split second I thought there was something wrong with the car and then I realised it was the stop start. IT’S ALIVE! 😂
