What did you do to your R today?

No bubble burst.

"it might be difficult to understand why red vehicles also have a higher crash risk. However, red vehicles have a 7% higher crash risk than safer colored cars. Red is a very vibrant color. However, red is used a lot on roads in road signs, traffic control devices, sirens, and brake lights. This might make it harder for other motorists to see the red vehicles with all of the surrounding red."

Hahaha, ok. Good study.

"Driving a darker coloured car can increase your crash risk, but that is nowhere near as influential a factor as your driving behaviour"

The final paragraph of the second link eased my concerns (or it would've done, if I had any concerns to begin with)

Read that of you don't believe DRL's are a legal requirement.

Sent from my fingers

I believed you from the beginning. What reason is there to doubt you? I don't make random assumptions that people are lying just because I don't like it. I never claimed you were lying or said I didn't believe you.

Anyway it's just a difference of opinion. Its not like my car doesn't have DRL. Just if I switch to 0 they turn off. They're on when switch to auto.

I wasn't talking about anyone specific, I'm just trying to inform people so they don't fall foul of the laws, that's all.

There is a lot of misinformation on the internet so it's always good to follow up with reliable sources such as government websites!

Cheers

You have to distinguish between a legal requirement for the manufacturers to fit the items as standard and a legal requirement to use them.

BUT turning them off or altering their use from standard is a modification that would require the person's insurers to be notified of and I suspect they would not agree to this modification! I need not detail the ramifications otherwise.

MOT-wise I recall that 2018 introduced the testing of DRL so vehicles due for an mot at a certain date in 2021 will be so tested.

Just leave them as standard @OOV.

Having noted the number plate - you are not THE R400 are you? (ex-member - more veteran members will get this!)🤣

Drove it on fumes to the petrol station, filled up with V Power, then took it to have new trainers fitted.  By the great lads at Lepsons Tyres (they commented on what a lovely wheel and colour silver Prets are, and I agree!).  Went PS4S all round once again.  Got 22k out of the outgoing PS4S so they’ve done very well wear wise.  Need to scrub the newbie set in but they feel so good!

That £1490 pretty much covers the supply and fit of not only the 4 tyres, but also the Clubsport S front discs/pads and the oem rears.  😁

Worth every penny imho.  The Discs.....mmmmmm...lovely to look at too.  Great choice Rebecca👏
