DDave
Very nice motor been considering one myself but prices crazy on whats available from stock or imminent with all the main dealers charging a premium over list, how long did it take from order to delivery might move my 7.5R on while prices good. Had the golf sounded better I would have kept it / got the mk8 R but I wanted more sound and was willing to pay the price for it. The R is a terrific package and was only “let down” (and that’s a leap really as it’s a small point) by the sound from the 4 pot… True to form I’ve got another black car and having collected last night it’s dirty already Will post up more info for anyone who is interested so feel free to ask any questions but for now a brief summary: Gone for saloon purely due to looks. Golf is more practical for sure so another compromise. Only had 15miles on it when I collected so still taking it easy but below 3k rpms it’s very ordinary on part throttle, which is great as it will help it be an every day road car (which being able to do it all was the golfs party piece imho). The exhaust sounds brilliant even though it’s brand new. Really happy especially knowing it’s going to get better with more miles too… Interior tech I prefer the golf so getting used to it still but that may be due to the latest mmi approach Vs older tech in the mk7.5 which I found really easy to use. Range appears to be similar to the golf for now, but we shall see on that front!! Will add a few pics when I can get out to do so… but it’s just nice to have it and be mobile again after 4 months without a car

Mine is a launch edition so a bit different from a standard order but I “ordered” it in august so about 5 months - it was supposed to be ready in Oct/nov so was delayed. All that time I was without a car…Current timelines are around 9-12 months depending on spec.

AHG
I have a thoughtto replace my 8R (if it ever comes)into a 2023 RS3 in the year 2026/7by that time their price should be at a small differenceBut I’d probably fall in love with the Golf and will not be able to let it goIt happened with my mk4Got stuck with it 11 years

keano
A quick video on my phone of startup. As shown in the vid it’s only on 70 miles but I’m really happy with how it sounds already. It’ll get better too which is just lovely https://www.instagram.com/keano_04/reel/CYhGmI5h_sH/?utm_medium=copy_link NRW and Booth11

gazza5
Tbh this engine in a A4 estate body would be fine for me. I rate this engine higher than the 2.9 v6 in the RS4 personally). The RS3 is just a bit too small - but I do really love the saloon version the way it looks. keano
Count Drunkula
I love my 5 cylinder lump but I fear its days are numbered. Audi has just cancelled all orders of new TTRS and RS3 in Canada due to new regulations and as such are discontinuing the 5 cylinder in Canada. keano
Cleaned her up - feel like you get to know the car a bit better when you clean them up too. Drips in and around the boot are a pain - same mirror drips as the R had really need a air drier style something to blow dry it… Interior done with gyeon leather care and was easy to use and should protect it for a couple of months. Mythos black looks superb when clean. Keeping it looking it’s best is going to take a lot of effort…. A lot of effort… NRW, Clarkie48, Stobsie and 8 others 10
