GPF Filter/ Power decrease new golf R 😡

From Autocar:

How the petrol particulate filter works:

The new filter is tucked in behind the engine a few centimetres from the turbo, heats up very quickly and becomes effective seconds after starting from cold. At its core, exhaust is forced through the walls of channels blocked off at alternate ends. The trapped particulates are superheated, reduced to CO2 and, at the same time, the unwanted HC, NOx and CO are converted to small amounts of CO2, nitrogen and water.

After leaving the filter, exhaust gases pass through a second, conventional three-way catalytic converter mounted beneath the floor. This ensures the tailpipe exhaust complies with the latest level of EU6c emissions standards even when the engine is working flat out. The Up GTI is subject to the new WLTP (World Harmonised Test Procedure) and RDE (Real Driving Emissions) testing standards. Like EU6c, WLTP applies to all new types of car introduced after September 2017. WLTP should ensure the quoted emissions are much closer to real world outputs.

I personally would not want this (my comment)

It sounds to me less like the filter is being added because it has to.  This sounds more like making up for Dieselgate, or because without they'd be in a higher band for tax etc, which they don't want.  This article says they're doing it across all models, which is why I'm thinking the above: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/volkswagen-equips-petrol-cars-particulate-filter-technology

Well noisy exhausts could be a thing of the past anyway - how the fiat abarth 500 thing and mini cooper s with john works exhaust are ok I don't know (I'm not complaining about it I have no issue with it but they are a lot noisier than a lot of cars on the road).

Soon we will all be in milk floats anyway!

Should VW not be paying compo for stuff like this too people like me who have ordered a 310, and they are still even advertising it as 310 in there brochures... a little birdy told me we could cancel our order and by law get a refund as we aren’t receiving the product we ordered, wether that’s true or not I don’t know..

Do you think the golf will gain the same extra torque? I’d happily settle for that 😂

lol who knows, perhaps there's something different about the setup on the TT exhaust that nets this increase? Have to wait for the full specs to be released.

I am in the same boat estimated delivery is November but its changed twice so i'm taking that with a pinch of salt.

When order was placed it was 310ps. That's what i should expect.

I opted for the Akrapovic for better sound a bit more drama. If any of that element is took away i will not be happy at all.

Standard exhaust is pants (my personal view.) Always put me off.

But for close to £3k for the sportier exhaust i don't care if the Nephilem's from planet Niburu have to do the necessary work around i want all the pops and bangs. End of!!!!!!

Guys...only saw this post after I`d already done my question in another else I`d tag onto this.

Mine was subject of 'New emissions tests and exhaust sound?'

I`m the same and have concerns over my order - I expect pops and crackles from the Akropovic same as the 310PS 7.5R, not too fussed about the 10HP loss.

Would really value updates from those who`ve ordered post-emissions 300PS with the Akrapovic, and whether it still sounds good?

Thanks all - its a lot of money and sound is important factor to me, like others above!
