This is the requirement for getting the OTA updates according to the TPI OUB8/OUB9:

"For the customer to be able to carry out the over-the-air update in their MQB vehicle, the following requirements must be met:

Vehicle must be enrolled

(enrolled = We Connect contract must be active and a main user or Volkswagen ID must be assigned to the contract)

Vehicle must have a main user

Vehicle must not be in private mode"

Oh ok interesting, bit cheeky that you need a current We Connect subscription to be able to receive "bug fixes"!!!

Still, got just over 2 years left so wonder if it will be "bug free" by then ?? 🤔

I think the latest version in the UK seems to be 1896.

As Andy ( @dopper99) says, the latest version in UK is 1896.

And for the heated seat fix to be applied (as per that specific TPI), the software needed to be on 1890 (or 1896 presumably now that’s available) for them to apply the heated seat fix.  That was the situation with mine which was on software version 1788.  They first updated it to 1803 (1896 version wasn’t put at that point) then carried out the heated seat fix.   It’s all in that TPI in the TPI thread.

What software version were you on before yesterday @Mange?

Judging by your photos above, it says the version is 1788.  Is that what you were on originally?

Did your dealership say what they did exactly?

Mine was updated to 1896 in the dealership in March and the software version changed to that in the system info.  The device part number also changed from ending in Dvto ending in H (that happened when I was update to 1890).

1896 is now available as a two-part OTA update (at least here in UK and Ireland) as quite a few have recently had that - if you read a few pages back of this thread.

Have you mentioned the TPI for the heated seat issue?  https://www.vwroc.com/forums/topic/40947-tpis-for-mk8-golf-r-info-only-thread/?do=findComment&comment=614851

Sounds like some BS from your dealer

1896 is available in EU as well as UK
according to several sources (FB foe one)
Get it here for 3 months now as we get EU cars
(no OTA because no WeConnect here, just dealer update)

If I were you I'd find another VW dealer
and have that conversation again
