So far (touch wood) I havent had a single 'bug' with any of the systems in my car. Booth11

If you hate it, and don’t fancy wrapping your car round a tree, you can disable the gesture control in the menus, which might at least cut out any gesture stuff. It’s under Settings ( on main screen) then Screen. Chronicbint

Will try, thanks o font of knowledge. 😀

We all now want the same software version as you. 😁 Not sure I've heard of anyone being updated to your version - 1898 - as yet at the dealers. dopper99
I'm hoping software version 1900 will fix all known issues. Seems a nice round number. 😁😁 Booth11 and Dannybear83
JonnyG
My car went in for a first service and two software updates (campaigns) at 8.00am this Tuesday 6th Sept. Just had a call now (1600pm Wednedsay) to say they have still not succeeded with the software updates (two days later) 😒🙄. Anybody else had such a long wait ? .... or know of any possible reasons for any issues ? Good job I got a courtesy car (new Polo) !! Previous details (this is an R-Line model remember so maybe different to an R) :-
JonnyG
Quick update to the above. I'm pleased to report that all the software updates were completed by the next day (8th Sep). Reading up on the big 1896 update that was done on my car I've read in a few places that further software updates beyond 1896 will all be done OTA. Anyone know if this is right ? Someone already has had a taste of 1898 :- Booth11

No idea of what you’ve heard is the case but as people had 1896 update done OTA, it sounds plausible.
dopper99
Yes I think MY23 cars are coming with 1898.
aldfort
Quick report on 1896. We had this update a while ago and we have been able to compare over a trip we did before the update. The improbable ( as VW put it) speed alerts have gone but the car missed one national speed limit sign. No other bugs to report. And what are the icons below the clock, they don’t look familiar to me (my 8R is still on 1890). Regards, mpv
