No not yet, they said they want to run another test tomorrow morning, then will contact me so i'll ask what it was all about then... and pass it onto all you owners here lol

Yes would be good to know:

What caused it to go into meltdown and why?

What they did to fix it?

Is it likely to happen again?

My guess is that in future, they will say to bring it into the dealership instead of OTA updates so it doesn't happen again.

Ok she's back 😍

The update that i did at home was the culprit apparently , it did not install properly and killed the system, I was on 1804 , just checked the system and its now 1896

The salesman who brought it back said as he was driving it back another system update appeared, just had a look at that and i'm scared to press Update... its 908mb in size..

Glad you’ve got her back!

Assume that should read “it’s now 1896”?

But it’s not confidence inspiring that the OTA software update killed the system completely.

Have you dared pressed “update” yet?  Is it another system update or along the lines of the ones we often get?

I still do not trust it, car just came back, and now the same day you get another huge update that correct errors ?

As for me I will only do updates when I do not need the car and I can get it to a dealer right away in case it goes sour. There does not seem to be a clear and well thought out update policy at VW

Looks like this is not going to change anytime soon IMO

Just a quick one… my car had all the latest updates allegedly when it was in for its first service on Tuesday. No issues since the update. I got in my car after work today and another update was required. It was a big one at 900+ mb’s I think. I got home and and it said it will take 30 mins to install so I can’t drive the car for that period of time! New one on me this. Anyone else had this today?

Sorry mate half asleep and clearly didn’t scroll back 🙌🏻🤣🤣🤣

No worries i was not trying to be odd, One thing to mention to yourself or anyone else who gets this update , mine got stuck at one point and stayed there for about an hour before resuming , maybe specific to my update, but it did resume and complete so don't panic if you get the same ...IMG_2624.thumb.jpeg.1037aa05c5f9967ceecc46cd42ef871f.jpeg

yeah I thought about this after I parked it up… network signal is really poor where I live and it sitting in the garage means the signal will be even worse! I will check later and see what state it is in 🤣
