Had my MK7 6 years now, was a year old when I purchased it. Difficult car to replace. π.. Still fairly low mileage and apart from servicing & waterpump and the leave in park gremlin (warranty), has not cost me anything extra, so i think why replace it.
-
Sorry should have said mines march 17 last of the mk7's.. still not good on a at the time 4 year old car.
-
My golf r has this, looks like small stress cracks on the inside. You cant see it with the lights off so looking at the prices of headlights i'll put up with it. Started going like it in 2021 mines a 2017 car.
-
I see the Smartflash is now on Mountune's website Β£895 with the TCU map. Wonder if they do a lower price/part ex for owners of the older handset tune, as I'm not a fan of the TCU tune with the older handset map on my 2017 mk7.

Been insured with them for the past 2 years, no problems renewing. In fact the premium went down by a reasonable amount. Iβm 50βs rural and on street parking 9years + Ncd , clean licence. Might be something to do with location perhaps..?

Iβve done this on my R , bought some reflective aluminium sheet with adhesive backing from Amazon, I think itβs sold more for motorbikes, trimmed it to shape and stuck it to the pad. Itβs been on there for about a year and a half and as yet itβs not warped. π€

I used to use Vertu (Whitchurch) - (used to be South Hereford Garages) on the A40 Monmouth-Ross on Wye road. Sadly now closed (mid April) with only the Hereford Branch an option now, But i have found a local Vw specialist to service my car.

Welcome, nice estate, Love Limestone Grey suits the Golf R , estate or hatch. π

I did have the TCU tune with the Engine tune, Its okay when on the move but in traffic its up and down a little bit too much , putting it in eco just dulls the throttle and gear changes slightly. Thankfully the tune also got rid of the Coasting function in Eco.
-
I think that's right , as the throttle doesn't seem as spikey when in eco and it seems to go as well as it does in normal or race mode, might keep it in eco for town/traffic driving. I never thought I would ever drive my R in eco. π

Had the mountune M52 tune on my 2017 Mk7 R now for a couple of weeks, and I should have done it ages ago what a difference.. The only thing thatβs taking a bit of getting used to is the DSG stage 1 map, Iβm finding that in town driving itβs going between 3rd and 4th a bit too much although you can go into manual to get around that. I have noticed though that if the DSG is put into Eco it seems to stop the hunting between 3rd and 4th, probably a daft question but in doing this Iβm wondering does it knock the performance back down to the standard 300ps or does it stay at 360ps and just dull the gearbox a bit.?

Good point on the fuel and maintenance Gavras, Luckily I did fill my Rβs tank up on my last day at work. π

Done one round trip of 5 miles since 25 March, and put on trickle charge once every couple of weeks so far. Unfortunately itβs parked on the road so is absolutely filthy π’π±Now the lockdowns easing I might give it a wash.. π

Used to be a member, not that active though, I had a jazz blue 1.6 mk4, loved that colour.π

Just rang Vertu, the dealer i use is not yet open.. service now booked for 2 june, with a bit of luck π. They seem to be taking bookings from 1st of June looking at their website.
-
Could be right, I had my R booked in for a service at the end of March, had a call from the dealer (vertu) changing it to the 11th May.

Got my two front covers from rhino uk - https://rhinoukbootlinersltd.co.uk got mine in black seem to fit ok, and are the thicker waterproof type of material. I waited about a week for mine.

Had my 17 plate MK7 R DSG in for a replacement....... Gear Shift Assembly - For the Leave in Park Issue (happened once - then every journey) 11000miles Bonnet Insulation - Old one was warped Hatch Drain Tube - Grommet Broke Off All sorted under warranty.π

Sorry no photos of mine, but dazie00 did put a couple of photos of a white R in page 1 of this thread..

Another vote for Revo RVO19's. Got a set of silver ones on my Pure White Mk7, nice looking good quality wheel. Also the centre bore is correct for the Golf R, & the original bolts and covers also fit.
-
They do it in white as well π
-
Got a set on my R, seems like a good tyre, so much better than the factory bridgestone's. Oddly though they give a better ride on the 19" wheels I changed to than the factory 18" bridgestones π€

Took my test and passed in a Mk1 Nissan micra π , but the car i drove the day after was a 1979 Opel Ascona 1.6n in a fetching shade of orangeπ.

Got a Set of gloss silver Revo RV019's on the way for my White R, not got them yet, But can I use the oem vw wheel bolts with them..?
