The Golf & Leon seem ... to use the same sub-woofer mounted in the spare-wheel.
BobbyT
Love the Dynaudio. I didn't like the standard system in my CC which I guessed would be similar to the Golf which is why I went for the upgrade. Once it's EQ's it sounds great. Stevo_CT
I have Dynaudio in mine, it's an excellent system. Where it really shines for me, (not an audiophile, so take it easy) is on volume, when playing music loud you get to appreciate the quality more. But, I don't often play music loud, and I could just as easily be content with a standard system. My obscure point is that I guess the extra cost should be weighed against your passion for music and quality of sound. I got my car discounted with tons of options included, but I doubt if I had to spec the audio for extra I would of.
Shug
Didn’t bother myself, but I only have the radio on as background music when driving. Plus i’ve lost some frequency in my hearing (getting old) and wear reasonably hi-tech hearing aids to amplify speech. Can’t have them on in car as they isolate the drone of the engine noise so would also isolate the music with same frequency.
golf7.5r
Front sound staging from the dynaudio tweeters is exceptional for a factory system. Subwoofer can be heard but not felt (but then I was spoilt with a custom 10" sub in my previous car).

phil4
I've not done a back to back as such, but my previous GTD didn't have it, and the new R does. As has been said you can crank the volume up very loud indeed without any distortion, it also adds (I think) tweaters in the rear. If it wasn't offered as an option, I wouldn't worry about it, but for the price it actually seems pretty good value. I also suspect it depends on what you intend to do with the car at the end. It's quite visible (with the front tweater chrome surround), and quite well regarded, even if you don't use it... so suspect it'll help with a future sale. That doesn't matter one bit if it's lease/PCP and you're handing it back, but is useful if you'll keep and sell later.

camelsac2002
I have it in my mk7 and love it - great clarity. I’ve even read somewhere (in a test I think) that it’s better than the Bose system in the RS3. I priced up an R with DSG, Dynaudio, 19” Pretorias, Oryx white, black mirrors, DCC and the 90% tints and the discount came to over £6000 - so worth getting the Dynaudio if you can get a discount.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Jon R306
Jon R306
I do miss the sub in the boot on this standard setup compared to My last Bose setup. Dynaudio sounds a no brainer for the price 👍
Booth11
Dynaudio is one of the first things I’d always spec. Brilliant system for the money. Golf67
SIMK7.5
Its an excellent system and definitely worth the small extra outlay. Its one of the few car sound systems that sounds great even at low volumes, still clear and precise. You just need to adjust the equalizer to taste (like any system).
