I'm in the same situation, car ordered 27th July with a delivery date of 19th December which will make it a 2019 car.

Silly question perhaps but what will they be called

300 BHP was Mk.7, 310 BHP was Mk7.5 so will the new 300BHP be Mk7.75 ?

Must get out more!!

Yeah, I ordered mine on the 3rd of July, and maybe 😂

I’m not sure how you intend to drive but I’ve had my R 7.5 a little over a month and it’s almost too quick for the public roads. A few seconds on the accelerator and your way past the limit.

I love mine but I am no where near the peak of its performance, for those worrying about ‘loosing power’ it’s got far far more than you need in day to day driving and that’s with having a few squirts too! There’s police all over and not to mention speed cameras etc.

Maybe I’m old and too sensible but I enjoy my car and don’t intend to drive it like I’ve stolen it when I’m just popping to Sainsbury’s, it’s a golf, the best of both worlds, 0-60 in less than 5 seconds - that’s quick enough.

Oh no I agree, my current car will do 60 in 6 seconds and it’s ample and I just tend to cruise around at normals speeds 90% of the time, but I do often take it up too the lakes or round the coast just purely for a drive, my way of unwinding I guess!

I doubt its the GPF thats reducing the power more likely they have detuned it to the previous mk7 power to help it comply with the new real world RDE tests for co2 emissions

Well I contacted VW and apparently it is too do with the dpf restricting exhaust flow, the cheapest and easiest way to pass the tests I guess

Nope deffo the GPF also confirmed by Audi on their 310ps variant. The TTS gains 20lbtft torque for free due to the backpressure, no other changes.

Do you think the golf will gain the same extra torque? I’d happily settle for that 😂

Not sure the decrease in power means a higher model identification Len, maybe 7.25 would be more appropriate, using the formula for calculating bhp (2πNT/60 ) then factoring in the additional kerb weight from the particulate filter and then allowing for the extra .1 bar tyre pressure increase to allow for the additional mass, 7.25 seems an accurate calculation.

Carol Vorderman.  🙄

I agree with  all the above comments regarding the 10 bhp it will make very little difference. The biggest advantage with the 7.5 is still the 7 speed box it’s so much better in terms of speed and economy. My only concern would be the sound, my 7.5 is so much louder than the 7 (does help I have Akrapovic) but I’d be gutted if they removed the pops and bangs

Yeah thats what I’m most concerned about, losing those pops and burbles, can imagine how annoying it’ll be for me seen as I ordered a 310 and they are sending me something different, I’ll get mad if the pops and bangs have gone 😡😂
