Mk7 Golf R - Upgraded Calipers

Any info on piston area etc with the Macans over say the tried and tested TTRS/RS3 caliper?

Same for the mk3 TTS?

The Macan calipers do sound like they make the most sense, not needing adaptors for either a mk6 or mk7. Drop in a pair of Clubsport discs at 300 odd notes and you’ll have a decent setup.

Hi there, I have a Golf R MK 7.5 R estate with just under 20K miles. VW garage suggested I need new pads and discs for from as there is a lip on the disc and pad wear warning light has appeared. As I'll be looking to improve performance as warranty expires next year, I'm planning on upgrading front calipers and discs and was looking at 4 pot brembos. Macan calipers are cheaper than Aston Martin DB9 calipers, but I'm being told Aston Martin Caliopers are much better. Anyone got any experience of these. What do you advise? Difference in total cost will be about £500 for all the bits. Any guidance will be appreciated. Not planning any track driving

The cheapest site I found them for new was at e-acca.com.

Type in part numbers for the latest price.

8S0-615-107-G TT-S caliper (black) left
8S0-615-108-G TT-S caliper (black) right

Here are the TTS callipers that I have just had painted. The R logo is too small though so I've ordered larger ones.

There's also a TTS v's Macan calliper thread here;

The Macan callipers are really cheap in the US, so they are really popular you can buy a pair direct from Porsche over there for around £385!!!!!!!

Thats all you need really. They are a direct bolt on replacement without the need for brackets and use the standard R disc.

The only other bits you need would be;

Brake pads;  8S0698151A

and brake lines. I don't have the Audi part number for those as I bought them direct from HEL.

When I was looking into a BBK I seriously considered this: https://freakyparts.co.uk/products/seat-leon-cupra-mk3-brembo-4-pot-big-brake-kit

I settled on getting just discs and pads, as I couldn't justify the cost given I'm never going to do a track day

Come on, get up. Let me see your bruises.

I believe the Racingline stage 2 kit will fit with OEM wheels.

Hi Keithy, thanks for the update, I now have Marshy's old stage 2 Kit and they fit with my Prets OK, but they are replacements, so have a different offset I believe, to the originals.

I have a set of 18" cadiz to fit some winter boots on in the next couple of weeks, but also have some spacers I can fit if needed.
