bask04
Hey Kieran, I have a question, My 7R 472pk & 565Nm Loba Lo462 turboJMTuning Downpipe with sportcatVW Racing R600 IntakeWagner Tuning Competition intercoolerForge intake hoseJDEngineering Stage 3+ softwareJDEngineering Stage 3 DSG softwareFirezone Competition RON102 fuel But then on the highway my dsg have slip, so i decide to get uprated dsg clutch packs, oettinger performance clutch, rated for 650 nm. so the dsg again slips, now the tuner set the dsg pressure from 12 bar to 16 bar and now i have zero slip. So perfect, But now in the higher rpm's around 5500 at full boost the engine is holding down, so we logged, and the fuel pressure drops from 200 to 145 and back to 200. So i think i need a loba hpfp.... Why needs my car a upgraded dsg clutch, and now a hpfp ??? there are a lot of other 7R / S3 with the same numbers or even more . around 500 hp What is the limit of the fuel system of the 7R, especiallythe hpfp ? Kieran
@bask04 I'm not too sure to be honest, I'm not a mechanic or a tuner unfortunately. However, when I've spoken to people who've had clutch slipping issues with the DSG, it almost always seems to be a result of the tune. I know plenty of people who have used a particular tuner, experienced clutch slip, then switched to a different one and not had any issues. In regards to the fuel pump, I'm pretty sure you are on the verge of what the stock HPFP can handle. You're best asking your tuner this question though, they should be able to explain whether you need an HPFP or not Also, every tuner is different. When I was going Stage 3, I was told by one tuner that I need a LPFP and a HPFP to achieve 500bhp, one tuner said I didn't need any, and the one I chose said I just needed a HPFP. I guess they tune cars in slightly different ways, which changes what is needed slightly.

I'm expecting 2.9-3.2 for 0-60 and 10.7-11.1 for 1/4 mile Did you ever get round to getting the Dragy? Would be interesting to see the times! Yeah, got it a couple weeks ago, I'm still figuring out which points are best to shift but so far I've had 3.04s 0-60, 7.05s 100-200, 11.03s 1/4 SteveH and Smiffy

Kieran
Little update. Fitted 18" Neuspeed RSE10 with worn Bridgestone Potenza S100's and got these Dragy times, best out of 3 runs. 10.81s - 1/4 mile 6.86s - 100-200km/h 3.03s - 0-60mph Extremely pleased with them, they were done with full weight and half a tank of fuel. Little less fuel, some octane booster and dialing in tyre pressures should get me into the 2s 0-60 and 10.7s on 1/4 mile!! For reference, the 19" ATS Racelight wheels I usually run with are about 9.9kg. The Neuspeeds are 8.6kg, so a 1.3kg difference has resulted in 0.22s on 1/4 mile and 0.19s on 100-200km/h. These runs were done on the same road, with similar weather conditions. Also worth noting the tyres on the Neuspeeds (Bridgestone's) are not as highly rated/regarded as the PS4S' on the ATS Racelights, so maybe with some better tyres I'd see even better times... Smiffy
That’s a great improvement from just the wheels/tyres. With a bit of luck when the weather gets a bit better and temps get into the 20s C the traction will get you into the 2s for the 0-60? Kieran
I've done a few bits to the car recently, so thought it may be a good time to update this thread! I'm heading to the Nürburgring again on the 10th May, and to help reduce any oil surge (which I had been experiencing at Oulton Park) I picked up a Racingline Oil Management system. Bit of a hesitant purchase as there's a lot of negative feedback about this system with it leaking, turning orange and the drain bolt stripping overtime, but all the other options were over £600 and I couldn't bring myself to fork out that much! Anyway, it's fitted, and no problems so far, but after just 2 weeks it caught half a cup of substances...! A spider also decided to climb itself into the cup afterwards. 😂 I changed out the terrible Bridgestones on my 18" Neuspeeds for Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. Very excited to see how these perform, especially with my ring trip next week, just hoping the weather is good! I swapped my Unitronic intake pipe and turbo elbow for the all in one Turbo Technics intake pipe and elbow after hearing it has much better flow, and just because it's only right my intake pipe matches my turbo brand! Haha. I also grabbed myself a great deal on virtual cockpit, MIB 2.5 Discover Pro, MK7.5 rear tail lights, and MK7.5 heated leather seats. Wiring into the BCM for the heated seats was quite nerve racking, but I managed to get it all working - aside from the fact I wired them the wrong way round, the drivers side button controls the passenger side and vice versa! I probably should've tested that before putting the entire interior back together, but hey ho, haha. I love the virtual cockpit and MIB 2.5, massive upgrade over the standard MK7 equipment. However, I am still missing the trim piece for the Discover Pro screen, so if anyone comes across one, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know, it's about £150 from VW and I'm not sure if I can bring myself to pay that much for a little bit of plastic trim 🙃 Lastly, I fitted a full replacement carbon fibre diffuser which I think completes the rear. Next on my to-do list is the rear brake pads, I'm stuck between EBC yellowstuff (around £60) or Ferodo DS2500 ( around £160), can't decide whether the Ferodo's will be worth the price difference. (I would appreciate any input) I'll upload some photos of the interior changes and rear lights that I've retrofitted tomorrow, somehow I haven't taken any yet!
